Dexter: Resurrection nears the end of filming as cast prepares for CCXP Mexico reveal.
The 18th week of filming for Dexter: Resurrection has officially wrapped, marking yet another milestone for the cast and crew. As May comes to a close, so does the six-month-long shoot in New York City — and the excitement is only building as we head into the final weeks of production.
With filming set to conclude in June, Dexter fans have a major event to look forward to before the season wraps: CCXP Mexico (Comic Con Experience), where an exclusive Dexter: Resurrection panel will take place. The panel will feature none other than Michael C. Hall, David Zayas, Showrunner Clyde Phillips, and executive producer and writer Scott Reynolds.
This highly anticipated appearance is expected to drop some serious revelations. On May 31st, attendees can look forward to in-depth discussions about the upcoming season, exclusive insights from behind the scenes, and — perhaps the biggest treat of all — the world premiere of the first official Dexter: Resurrection trailer.
After a quiet and update-light May, this moment is shaping up to be the perfect payoff for fans who've been patiently waiting for more news.
Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine Wraps Season 1 as Blessing Kamara
Back on set in NYC, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, who plays the intriguing new character Blessing Kamara, has wrapped filming for the season. Although he joined the main cast in Episode 2, Mwine quickly made his presence felt, becoming a central figure in the storyline.
Following his final scene, Scott Reynolds shared a heartfelt behind-the-scenes photo of himself and Mwine smiling and embracing, marking the end of the actor’s journey — at least for Season 1. In the image, Mwine is seen holding a Dexter: Resurrection clapperboard that reveals they're currently filming Episode 9, the penultimate episode of the season.
“Can’t wait for you all to see what Ntare brings as Blessing to this new season of Dexter: Resurrection. You’re gonna love him,” Reynolds captioned the photo.
The background of the photo appears to match the same house seen in an earlier still from Episode 2, where both Michael C. Hall and Mwine’s characters were present — suggesting this location could be significant to the story.
On Instagram, Mwine also shared a heartfelt message with fans:
“That’s a Season 1 wrap for me on Dexter: Resurrection. Can’t wait for you guys to see what we’ve got in store for you.”
Who is Blessing Kamara?
One of the most mysterious additions to the Dexter universe, Blessing Kamara remains an enigmatic figure — and that's exactly why fans are buzzing. While other main characters have had their roles more clearly defined, Blessing’s true nature is still under wraps.
So far, promotional images suggest a friendly dynamic between him and Dexter. But as any long-time Dexter fan knows, appearances can be deceiving. Could Blessing turn out to be an ally, or is he hiding something deeper?
Some fans have begun drawing comparisons between Blessing Kamara and Brother Sam from Dexter Season 6 — a man of faith who helped Dexter explore his humanity. Could Blessing serve a similar purpose in Dexter: Resurrection, helping Dexter rediscover a more redemptive path in the unlikeliest of places?
