Showtime's official description for the final episode of Dexter: Original Sin Season 1.
Warning: This article contains spoilers for Episode 9, "Blood Drive."
Dexter: Original Sin is rapidly approaching its highly anticipated Season 1 finale. Episode 10, titled Code Blues, (watch its official trailer here) is set to premiere next Friday, February 14. According to the cast and crew, this episode is expected to be one of the most shocking installments of the season.
While this finale marks the end of Season 1, it may not be the end of the series. Although Showtime has yet to officially renew Dexter: Original Sin for a second season, there’s a strong likelihood of continuation. Given the current direction of the plot and the overwhelmingly positive reception throughout the season, the future of the series looks promising.
Episode 9 Sets the Stage for an Explosive Finale
The latest episode, Blood Drive, laid the groundwork for an intense conclusion. This episode featured major developments involving the season’s primary antagonists, Aaron Spencer and Brian Moser. Written by Dexter veteran Scott Reynolds, Blood Drive introduced fans to the young adult version of Dexter’s biological brother in a disturbingly sinister fashion. After weeks of speculation, it was confirmed that the mysterious restaurant patron from Episode 2 was indeed Brian, played by Roby Attal.
What to Expect in the Season 1 Finale
Showtime has already unveiled the official episode description for Code Blues, written by showrunner Clyde Phillips and directed by Michael Lehmann. Here’s the official synopsis:
"Dexter races to find the missing kidnapped child before it's too late; Deb visits her godfather in the hospital and rethinks her future; Harry comes face-to-face with a serial killer... leading to a shocking result."
This description teases the much-anticipated confrontation between Brian and Harry after two decades. Given the flashbacks in Episode 9, how will this reunion unfold? Numerous theories are circulating about how the season will conclude, but the truth will be revealed on Valentine’s Day when Code Blues drops on Paramount+ with Showtime.
