We finally have official confirmation about a returning character in the Dexter sequel series!
As Dexter: Original Sin, the prequel series starring Patrick Gibson, approaches its fifth episode this Friday, excitement builds around the Dexter franchise. Another highly anticipated series is gearing up to begin production—Dexter: Resurrection, the sequel to Dexter: New Blood.
Filming for Dexter: Resurrection kicks off in New York City within days, continuing the story from New Blood’s intense final episode, "Sins of the Father." Announced by showrunner Clyde Phillips during San Diego Comic-Con in July 2024, fans were thrilled to learn that Michael C. Hall would reprise his role as Dexter Morgan.
Now, we have confirmation of another returning cast member. James Remar, who played the iconic Harry Morgan in the original series, has officially announced his involvement in Dexter: Resurrection!
Speaking to a fan on Cameo, Remar revealed:
"I am in the show Dexter, the original, and there’s also going to be a new one called Dexter: Resurrection... and I’m gonna be in that one too!"

This marks Remar's first return to the Dexter universe since he was notably absent from the 2021 limited series Dexter: New Blood, where Jennifer Carpenter's Debra Morgan took over as Dexter's moral guide.
The news follows a cryptic tease from Remar on the Dexter: Final Cut after-show for Dexter: Original Sin Episode 104, hosted by Jamie Chung. When asked about a potential return, he playfully remarked: "I’m alive. I’m breathing. So I guess there’s always a chance!"

According to a recent report by Cinemaholic, David Zayas (Angel Batista) and Jack Alcott (Harrison Morgan) are also rumored to reprise their roles. While this speculation seems likely, official confirmations are still pending.
