Dexter: Original Sin Season 1 Finale – Official Title Revealed (It’s Not ‘Born This Way’!)

The official title for the final episode of Season 1 has been revealed!

We’re now four episodes into Dexter: Original Sin’s first season, and yesterday marked the release of the latest installment, titled “Fender Bender.” The episode is now available to stream on Paramount+ with the Showtime plan. Notably, it’s the last new Dexter episode we’ll see this year.

Looking ahead, Episode 5, titled “F is for F*ck-up,” will premiere in early 2025, serving as the season’s halfway point and the first new episode of the new year. As we shared earlier, there’s a planned one-week hiatus between Episodes 6 and 7, set for mid-January. The season finale remains scheduled for its original air date: Valentine’s Day (February 14, 2025).

A few weeks ago, it was reported that the Season 1 finale of Dexter: Original Sin—frequently described by cast members in interviews as “amazing”—would be titled “Born This Way.” The name seemed fitting as it mirrored the original series’ Season 1 finale, “Born Free.” However, it appears the episode will no longer carry that title—or perhaps it never did officially.

The confirmed title for Episode 10 is...

"Code Blues" is written by Dexter: Original Sin showrunner Clyde Phillips and directed by Michael Lehmann.

In medical settings, "Code Blue" typically signifies a life-threatening emergency, suggesting the episode might feature a hospital scene, potentially involving Dexter Morgan in the future. Additionally, the word "blues" often represents sadness or emotional struggles, hinting that the episode could explore a character grappling with a deep emotional crisis, depression, or loss.

The title may also metaphorically reference Dexter's moral "code" (such as Harry's Code), coming into conflict with feelings of sadness, regret, or personal turmoil.
