That's a Wrap! Dexter: Original Sin Completes Production – Final Week Photo Roundup

Wrap gifts, farewell cakes, and a sense of hope for more Dexter: Original Sin on the horizon.

Only 20 days remain until Dexter: Original Sin premieres on Paramount+ with Showtime! The cast and crew officially wrapped filming all ten episodes on November 21. Production, led by showrunner Clyde Phillips, began in Miami on June 5 and took just under six months to complete. (Note: The behind-the-scenes image above is from earlier stages of production, not the final week.)

The last four main actors on set during the final week were Alex Shimizu (Masuka), Christina Milian (LaGuerta), Christian Slater (Harry), and Patrick Gibson (Dexter). Gibson was the “last man standing” on the final day, filming additional scenes for the season one finale.

Yesterday, the show's lead, Patrick Gibson, shared a glimpse of the wrap festivities on his Instagram Stories, including a farewell cake that, as seen in the image below, was delightfully Dexter-themed!

The actor shared this selfie while enjoying a piece of the cake. The red marks on his face are, of course, fake blood—evidence from the final scene he filmed before wrapping.

As mentioned earlier, Alex Shimizu, who plays young Masuka, wrapped up filming all his scenes a day earlier. He marked the occasion by sharing a final mirror selfie from his trailer.

A small celebration followed, during which Christian Slater playfully smashed his face into the farewell cake to mark his and Christina Milian's final day on set. (See more about it here!) Patrick Gibson was also in attendance:

Showtime has been incredibly thoughtful when it comes to the Dexter: Original Sin cast. Not only do they provide a farewell cake for each main cast member upon wrapping, but they also gift a sleek black jacket featuring the unofficial Dexter: Original Sin logo. Alex Shimizu expressed his gratitude to Clyde Phillips—who is reportedly behind the idea—and Showtime for the gesture.

Christina Milian, who plays young Maria LaGuerta, also expressed her gratitude to Showtime for the wrap gift as she left her trailer for the final time this season.

Sarah Kinsey, who portrays a young version of Camilla Figg, the records supervisor for the Miami Metro Police Department, also received the wrap gift. Kinsey completed filming all her scenes for Dexter: Original Sin weeks ago.

Less than three weeks to go until the Dexter prequel premieres! Starting next week, exciting updates will be rolling out, including the official final trailer for Dexter: Original Sin. While the lack of promotion from Showtime has left some fans concerned, things are about to change.
