  1. I'm not surprised that Dexter isn't nominated. Good thing Michael is though.

  2. Whoa suprised that they nominated even MCH, I expected 0 noms. Go Michael.

  3. I expected only MCH to be nominated but was hopeful that Jennifer Carpentar would get a nod.. Oh well.. I am excited also about the Mad Men and Homeland nominations... I can see how Dexter got overlooked, nothing exceptional about season 6.. Lets home for Wins in season 7 and 8

  4. That whole list reeks of "old guilty white liberals who never watch TV but listen to a lot of gossip" I mean, really? Glenn Close and Kathy Bates, really? Those shows are utterly terrible, especially Harry's Law - that damn thing makes Matlock reruns seem exciting!!!!

And Kathy Bates? She's just Kathy Bates in it... the same damn character she has been in the last thirty thing she's acted in. *bleh*

  5. He is so not going to win - tough competition. He must be an Emmy Darling to have gotten nominated again. I like MCH but I feel if anyone should have gotten nominated for season 6 (over anyone else), it should have been Carpenter. Whether you agree with what they did with the character of Deb, her performance stood above the shoulders of everyone else last season. IMO

At least Dexter got one nomination.

I'm delighted to see that Benedict Cumberbatch is in there for BBC Sherlock (mini series)

  6. Yea, Carpenter was better last year, no doubt.

As far as shows - the race is clearly between Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, and Downtown Abbey. But remember, again this is Hollywood and most of those voters are old TV stars, so which of those three shows are old people gonna like best?

Downtown Abbey is a lock. :)

  7. Mad Men in every category. I can't see what's so great about that show. I bought season 1 a while back and watched half of it before I gave it away.

  8. Patrik you have to keep watching mad men.. last season was exceptional.

Homeland and Breaking Bad seem to be the emmy darlings..

I do hope Jen Carpentar gets herself a nod one day.. She was amazing last season

    1. I might give it another try someday, a very rainy day. It felt so stale, all they did was, talk talk talk, smoke, talk talk, smoke. A good show shouldn't need that money episodes to convince me so it's probably not for me.

As for Jennifer I think this season might be the one.

    2. "talk talk talk smoke talk talk smoke" that made me laugh!

Because even though I like Mad Men, that is totally true!

It's pretty much a pure soap opera, but most people like Mad Men for the "texture" and symbolism that is so rampant in the show, it's also a bit about nostalgia for an era that changed our entire society.

It took me awhile to totally get Mad Men. Recently I just tried out Weeds for the first time... the pilot sucked and the storylines are pretty boring, but I have gotten engaged with the characters so I keep watching.

BTW, last night I watched "A Dangerous Method" with Aragorn, Michael Fassbender, and Kiera Knightley - aside from the obvious "WTF is going on" experience of watching topless Kiera Knightly getting spanked into orgasm, the movie was exceptional and interesting - especially if a Jung fanatic like I am. I bring it up, because I know a lot of Dexter fans might be interested in Freud/Jung stuff.

    3. Cronenberg is the master. And that film isn't even in the list with his great movies.

    4. Yea, I think his pinnacle was:

Dead Zone - The Fly - Dead Ringers - Naked Lunch

As I think about The Fly and Dead Ringers, not many directors have made two movies that completely perfect, back to back.

I sat through The Fly 4 times within two weeks back in the day, I was so riveted by the performances in that movie. Iconic. And Dead Ringers, omg - Jeremy Irons at his peak, and of course, one of my favorite actresses of all time, Bujold!

Ever see "Anne of a Thousand Days"? She absolutely ripped my heart out and shoved it in my face.

    5. Haha Aragorn never dissapoints. Agreed Cronenberg is fantastic, he's done some great work with Viggo already so I might have a look at A Dangerous Method, but only if Keira had a rack installed.

    6. Perfect movies, all of them, i would definitely add crash, existenz and scanners in that list. dead ringers is still my favourite film. and, yes, bujold is a great actress and i also find her very attractive.i've never watched that movie though

    7. keira looks very good, as long as you like skinny. lol i think she looks stunning, mainly because of her facial features.

    9. Yes she looks very good, but flat boobies makes me sad.

    11. I am not judgmental about beauty. I have developed a pretty universal aesthetic.

Just google "Zedul Pictures" (with your filters off) and you get the cliff notes of 600+ women I have found beautiful enough to photograph over the last decade, of course, amongst them, my wife is always remains the most beautiful to me! Ha

      :)

    13. I'm not judgemental, okay maybe a little but mostly it's just mouth diarrhea. Much like my love for Bateman, I just can't hold it in.

      Also, f*cking show off!

      Teach me master. :(

  10. "A Dangerous Method" blew my mind... and KN had some serious clauses and negotiations with the Director before those scenes were shot as tastefully as possible. Good for her! But the overwrites at the end? Completely threw me. All of that, for what? Won't say more for those that haven't seen it, do, it is heavy material for the lighthearted... don't go there unless the intellectual side in movies appeals.

  11. It was 'Homeland' that finally dethroned 'B(oredwalk Empire'! Just because it has Scorsese's name attached doesn't make it work for me!

And this was JC's year out of the entire cast of the hell that they went through with the messed up writing of Season 6 on Dexter. Hope the Runner got the message! The non-stop laughing from the fans who waited in the hall all day to see the two minute clip of the Premiere, so loud you practically couldn't hear the dialogue, at what is arguably the most intense, dramatic moment in the history of the show and it's a joke? Wake up writers! Whatever the compliment was for, I have no idea. They are responsible for taking down one of the top cable tv shows ever, they have a lot of work to do to salvage what they gave themselves, a 2 season ending, that is a joke in itself!
