Dexter: Resurrection Star Says 'I Will Sign My Contract With My Eyes Closed' for a Spinoff With Uma Thurman

The idea was recently teased by the creative minds behind Dexter: Resurrection, and the actress is already 100% on board.

Krysten Ritter is so enthusiastic about the idea of a Dexter: Resurrection spinoff that she would sign on without even thinking twice. And she already has someone in mind she'd love to share the screen with again: Uma Thurman.

Ritter portrayed Mia Lapierre, the serial killer also known as Lady Vengeance in Season 1, and although her character's story appeared to come to an end after just three episodes, following Mia's death, it was eventually revealed that the actress would actually be returning for Season 2.

And this won't be a case of Dexter Morgan being haunted by a ghost. As showrunner Clyde Phillips recently revealed, Mia will be back in the flesh.

While we still don't know exactly what the future holds for Mia as the second season continues to release new episodes weekly, Ritter has now made it clear that she's completely on board with another idea. And that is giving Lady Vengeance her own spinoff alongside Thurman's Charley Brown.

Krysten Ritter Is Ready to Sign on for a Lady Vengeance and Charley Spinoff

As we recently mentioned that Ritter was actually the one who pitched the idea to Phillips and Scott Reynolds during a photoshoot for Entertainment Weekly magazine. The two creative minds behind Dexter: Resurrection revealed that they'd also given the possibility some thought.

In a new interview with the publication, Ritter expressed just how eager she is to make it happen, even saying, "I will sign my contract with my eyes closed."

The actress also had nothing but praise for Thurman, describing actually her as one of the most exciting and iconic actresses of all time. Ritter explained that she grew up idolizing her and still does, and that the opportunity to work alognside her has been a surreal experience. In fact, she and Michael C. Hall are apparently so starstruck that they still get excited whenever Thurman speaks to them.

Based on what we saw in Season 1, there may already be a... secret connection between Charley and Lady Vengeance that could provide an interesting starting point for such a spinoff.

The evidence suggests that the two women may have been involved in a plan to get Mia out of prison, with the help of a corrupt prison guard who Charley bribed during Season 1. Whether there's more to that story remains to be seen.

Krysten Ritter Wanted to Return to Dexter: Resurrection

Of course, the potential spinoff isn't the only reason Ritter is excited about her time in the Dexterverse. Her return as Mia in Season 2 was actually something she had been looking forward to, although keeping the details under wraps wasn't exactly easy.

Ritter explained that ever since her return was confirmed, the show's writers had made it crystal clear that she wasn't allowed to reveal anything about it during interviews. Her instructions were essentially to avoid saying anything that could give away the surprise, and that was pretty obvious in the recent 20th anniversary Dexter event interviews to her from various outlets.

The actress was nevertheless thrilled to get another chance to play Mia, explaining that she loved working on the show alongside Michael C. Hall and had wanted to return in any shape or form.

As Season 2 progresses, we'll hopefully get the full story behind Mia Lapierre's apparent death, including exactly how she managed to fake it and why. With Ritter back in the game, the possibility of seeing more of Lady Vengeance alongside Charley is something exciting and worth keeping an eye on.
