There has always been something heartwarming about seeing the stars of Dexter reunite, especially years after the original show has ended. But it is even more exciting when actors from different entries in the franchise finally meet, especially when it happens at a fan convention.
That is exactly what happened this past weekend.
Tony Amendola, who portrayed one of the original Dexter series' most awful characters, Santos Jimenez, recently met James Martinez, who played a younger version of Angel Batista in Dexter: Original Sin.
The unexpected reunion took place at AZ Horror Fest 2026 in Phoenix, Arizona, where both actors were appearing to meet fans and represent some of their best-known TV and film work, including, of course, Dexter and Dexter: Original Sin.
Martinez took to Instagram to share a photo of himself alongside Amendola, with the two actors smiling for the camera. And considering their connection to the franchise, the photo is even more interesting.
Two Dexter Actors From Different Generations Reunite, Connecting Both Shows
In Dexter: Original Sin, which takes place in 1991, fans were actually introduced to a younger and almost unrecognizable version of Santos Jimenez as the show revisited the events surrounding Laura Moser and her gang back in 1973.
In the original series, Amendola played an older version of Jimenez during Season 2 in 2007, appearing in three episodes. And, of course, fans will remember how his story ultimately came to an end during that suspenseful season.
Now, years later, a fan convention has brought the actors from those different eras of the franchise together in an unexpected reunion.
James Martinez Has Reunited With Other Dexter Stars Too in the Past
This also isn't the first time James Martinez has met actors from the original Dexter series.
The former Dexter: Original Sin star has shared photos with several stars from the OG show over the years, including David Zayas, Lauren Luna Vélez, and Julie Benz, with whom he also worked on a previous project.
And now, it was time for Martinez to meet another familiar face from the franchise!
Even though Santos Jimenez may not be the first character that comes to mind when thinking about Dexter, seeing Amendola and Martinez together is still a fun reminder of how connected and rich the different chapters of the franchise actually are.
