Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 Will Introduce the Most Insane Kill Room Location in Franchise History

Over the years, we've seen many creative ways for the writers to put Dexter in different kinds of kill room locations, but this upcoming one is truly insane and unique.

Ever since the OG series introduced audiences to Dexter Morgan two decades ago, fans have learned that he is a very neat monster, as his inner monologue put it during the pilot episode. And that is exactly why Dexter is always, or at least most of the time, extremely careful with his killings. He has to make sure he leaves no traces behind that could eventually lead to him getting caught, following the first and most important rule of Harry's Code.

This has also led Dexter to develop a very specific ritual when it comes to his kill rooms. He actually covers the entire area with plastic sheets to prevent any accidental blood spatter from being left behind. And while every Dexter series has found creative ways to make his kill rooms unique, it looks like one from Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 could end up outdoing them all.

In fact, it may be the most insane kill room in the franchise's history.

More specifically, during two extremely brief moments in the recently released full trailer for Dexter: Resurrection, we get a glimpse of Dexter carrying out one of his Season 2 kills. However, what really stands out to those who notice the background is the location where it appears to be happening.

It looks like Dexter Morgan is setting up a kill room inside a New York City subway train.

That's right. The upcoming season appears to feature a situation so extreme that it could force Dexter to carry out a kill inside one of the busiest and most heavily surveilled places in the Big Apple. And considering how carefully Dexter has operated throughout the years, doing something like this could put him in an incredibly dangerous position.

The Plastic-Wrapped Grab Handles Giving It Away

The two blink-and-you'll-miss-them shots actually show Dexter wearing an all-black kill outfit and aggressively stabbing his victim. Behind him, the walls of what appears to be a subway train can be seen, along with some overhead metallic grab handles.

Those handles are covered in plastic wrap, which would obviously fit perfectly with Dexter's usual preparations for a kill room. See the specific screenshot from the trailer below:

Of course, we should keep in mind that this scene may not be taking place during a busy commuting period, or that the subway train is adandoned, parked, or could potentially be empty depending on the time of day. Still, that wouldn't make the situation any less dangerous for Dexter.

Is It Real or... a Classic Dexter Hallucination?

So far, we have no idea what kind of situation could lead Dexter to set up a kill room there. And that uncertainty makes the scene even more intriguing, especially since Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 appears to be pushing Dexter into situations we've never seen him deal with before.

There is also another possibility worth keeping in mind. As exciting and high-stakes as the scene looks, the fact that Dexter appears to be carrying out a kill inside a busy public location could mean that we are not actually seeing a real event.

Since this is Dexter, the scene could potentially be part of a fantasy, or even a dream sequence. The chances of that being the case may be relatively low, but until the episode confirms what is really happening, it is something worth considering.

Whatever the explanation may be, the idea of Dexter Morgan setting up a kill room inside a New York City subway train is easily one of the wildest concepts we've seen from the franchise so far!

And it actually raises an even bigger question: Is Dexter about to become much more reckless in Dexter: Resurrection Season 2?
