The first new episode of Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 is now streaming on Paramount+ Premium, and following its release, the network has unveiled the official promo trailer for next week's highly anticipated installment.
Titled "Fallen," Episode 2 will pick up where the Season 2 premiere, "Risky Business," left off. It could also be the episode that gives audiences a better idea of where the new season is heading. And there's one major character return to keep an eye on, one that could actually help set things in motion.
That character is none other than Charley Brown, played by Uma Thurman. After being completely absent from the premiere, she's back in the new promo, telling Dexter that she's here to "tie up some loose ends" between them.
As the premiere suggested, Dexter Morgan will be dealing with something of a midlife crisis. The new promo opens with his inner monologue as he wonders, "What does a midlife crisis even mean for a serial killer?" We then see our favorite antihero hitting the gym for the first time in years.
Some of the moments featured in this barely 30-second promo were already shown in the full trailer released on Dexter's 20th anniversary. However, this time around, we get a closer look at Dexter and Charley as they exit an elevator into what appears to be a dark basement.
Lucas Stark, the Five Borough Killer, also makes an appearance. Following the horrifying actions introduced in Episode 1, the new footage hints that he's planning another kill. And, once again, he's informing the police about it, hoping to create even more chaos across the city. Judging by the rest of the fast-paced footage, it looks like his plan may be actually working.
We also get a very brief glimpse of The New York Ripper, but perhaps the most intriguing moment comes in the final seconds of the promo.
Dexter is seen inside his apartment when someone unexpectedly shows up at his door. Clearly surprised by the visitor, he asks, "How did you find me?"
But... who is the mysterious person showing up at Dexter's doorstep? We'll have to wait until next week to find out!
