The second week of October was a busy one for the casts of Dexter and Dexter: Resurrection, with events taking place on both sides of the Atlantic. While Michael C. Hall, Uma Thurman, Desmond Harrington, and other Resurrection cast members promoted Season 2 at multiple events in New York, four original Dexter stars travelled to Liverpool, England, for a special Comic Con reunion.

Jennifer Carpenter, David Zayas, Julie Benz, and Erik King attended Comic Con Liverpool on October 10–11, meeting fans for autographs and photo ops.

But one of the highlights of their appearance was a nearly 35-minute panel dedicated to Dexter, during which the four actors looked back on their experiences working on the series and the seasons in which they appeared.

The panel actually gave fans the opportunity to ask some interesting and thoughtful questions, with the actors acknowledging the quality of the questions posed by the audience throughout their discussion.

Some questions took the cast members back to the show's early days, nearly 20 years ago, when the original series first premiered in 2006.

Jennifer Carpenter, who played Debra Morgan, described landing the role in 2005 as her favorite part of her Dexter journey, simply because it meant she had gotten a job. She also explained that, personally, she couldn't think of a bad moment during her time on the show.

Most of the other actors appeared to share that sentiment, with one notable exception, Julie Benz, who played Rita Bennett and has long been outspoken about the creative decision to kill off her character in the Season 4 finale.

During the panel, Benz referred to Rita as "the vessel through which the audience all fell in love with Dexter," highlighting the character's importance to the original story and the audience's connection to the main antihero character.

Carpenter also revealed that just like with Julie Benz in the Season 4 finale, she too wasn't actually informed about the writers' decision to kill off Debra in the Season 8 finale until the last moment, giving another glimpse into what it was like for the actors to experience some of the biggest character deaths.

Unfortunately, Comic Con Liverpool's official YouTube channel hasn't uploaded the full panel, but thankfully this doesn't seem to be a problem, since Kurt, one Dexter fan who attended the event, and who also happens to be a reader and follower of Dexter Daily, recorded the entire discussion on his smartphone and shared it on his YouTube channel.

You can actually watch the full panel in the video above and see the chemistry between Carpenter, Zayas, Benz, and King as they reunite once more, to discuss their time on Dexter, share memories, and answer questions from UK fans, two decades after the series first premiered.
