Gabriel Luna, currently starring in HBO's The Last of Us, has joined the cast of Dexter: Resurrection in a guest role.
After weeks of silence regarding new casting updates, we finally have one, and it's an exciting addition. Actor Gabriel Luna has quietly joined the cast of Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 in a mystery guest role.
We say "quietly" because his involvement has not been officially announced yet. However, Luna was recently spotted on the set of Dexter: Resurrection in New York City, filming an exterior night scene alongside Michael C. Hall and Uma Thurman.
After taking a closer look at the footage, we were able to confirm that it is indeed Gabriel Luna.
Best known for playing Tommy Miller in HBO's The Last of Us, Luna's appearance in Dexter: Resurrection actually comes at an interesting time. With The Last of Us Season 3 currently on a filming hiatus for the month of June in Vancouver, Canada, it appears the Dexter production team took the opportunity to bring the actor on board for a guest role.
A look at Gabriel Luna's Instagram account further supports his involvement. The actor shared photos from New York City, where Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 is currently filming, including a picture in front of the Statue of Liberty. Notably, the post was made on the same date he was spotted filming scenes for the series.
Why Luna's involvement is being kept under wraps remains unknown, but an official announcement could be coming soon.
That secrecy is also the reason details about his character have yet to emerge. Based on information gathered from the set, it is quite possible that the 43-year-old actor could be playing a serial killer. However, that remains purely speculation at this point.
In addition to The Last of Us, Gabriel Luna is known for his roles in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Terminator: Dark Fate, and most recently Peacock's Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy.
As production on Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 continues in The Big Apple, fans will no doubt be eager to learn more about Luna's role and how he actually fits into the story.
