First Dexter Resurrection Season 2 Script Tease from Writers' Room—Director Calls It 'So Good'

We’ve finally gotten our first glimpse inside the writers’ room for the second season, courtesy of Marcos Siega.

It’s been two months since the writers’ room for Dexter: Resurrection season two officially came to life, and today brought the first real tease from behind those doors, at CBS Radford Studios in Los Angeles. A new group photo of the writing team surfaced on Instagram, giving fans just enough to spark excitement without actually revealing anything we shouldn’t see.

The image was posted by Marcos Siega, who has long been part of the Dexterverse as a director in various episodes of the original series and its spinoffs, and also serves as an executive producer.

His involvement behind the camera this season is not confirmed, though his presence in the room definitely fuels speculation. Even so, his decision to share the photo doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll direct any of the upcoming episodes.

The picture shows fourteen members of the writing staff standing together, surrounded by whiteboards and notepads filled with story details that were carefully hidden. Siega made sure every potentially revealing note was covered, which only adds to the intrigue of what the team is building for season two.

Along with the photo, Siega added a short message expressing how grateful he is to continue shaping the Dexter saga. He called it a privilege to bring the writers’ work to life and also slipped in a small but exciting hint after reading the script, saying plainly that “Season 2 is so good!” He also confirmed what we already know for a while now that filming starts in April, something we have been anticipating for months, and admitted he can’t wait for production to begin.

The writing process for the new season is still in its early stages. Showrunner Clyde Phillips previously confirmed that the script for episode one was completed in mid-November, and the full season is expected to be finished by March 2026. Cameras are set to roll just days later in New York City, where Dexter: Resurrection will once again take place.

For fans out there, Siega’s little update actually feels like a breath of fresh air during the long wait between seasons, especially after the strong reception season one received. Many have called it Dexter’s best storytelling since hte legendary fourth season, raising the bar for whatever comes next.

If Siega’s enthusiasm is any indication, the writers are already pushing to meet, and hopefully even surpass, the high expectations set by their comeback season.
