New York's iconic landmark glowed red to celebrate Dexter's thrilling return!
Yesterday marked a thrilling milestone for Dexter fans and cast members alike, as the final promotional push for the highly anticipated sequel series, Dexter: Resurrection, officially kicked off. And fittingly, the spotlight was on none other than the iconic New York City—the filming location for the entire first season and the perfect backdrop for a celebration of this magnitude.
While today’s red carpet premiere in NYC is set to dazzle with dozens of cast members in attendance—honoring the long-awaited return of America's favorite serial killer—another unforgettable moment unfolded just hours earlier.
In a rare and symbolic gesture, five stars of Dexter: Resurrection—Michael C. Hall, David Zayas, Jack Alcott, James Remar, and Kadia Saraf—were given the honor of flipping the ceremonial switch at the Empire State Building, illuminating it in bold red. This dramatic lighting wasn’t just for show—it marked the official celebration of Dexter: Resurrection and served as a chillingly perfect tribute to the show’s blood-soaked legacy.

The lighting event was organized in partnership with the New York Blood Center, highlighting a meaningful connection between the series and an important cause. The tradition of changing the Empire State Building’s colors is reserved for moments of cultural or societal significance, and the Dexter franchise certainly earned its place in the city’s skyline last night.
