Dexter: Original Sin Season 1 finale promises a thrilling ride.
Brace yourselves, Dexter fans! This season of Dexter: Original Sin is proving to be a wild ride, and the excitement is only ramping up. Showrunner of Dexter seasons 1-4, Dexter: New Blood and Dexter: Original Sin Clyde Phillips recently hinted at a dramatic conclusion to the prequel’s first season during an interview with Us Weekly. The highly anticipated season finale, titled "Code Blues," is set to premiere on Valentine’s Day 2025.
“Obviously, I’m not going to tease a cliffhanger, but I will say that there are several what we call ‘kills’ in this show,” Phillips shared. “But there’s also what we call a ‘big bad.’”
Fans have already had a taste of the suspense and storytelling that made the original Dexter series a cultural phenomenon, with the first four episodes now available for streaming. The prequel promises to deliver even more of the trademark twists and dark drama audiences love.
“There is a ‘big bad’ in this show that we think is going to be very surprising,” Phillips continued. “And from a story standpoint, it is very satisfying to the audience. We’re retreading some old territory, but we’re coming at it from a completely different point of view so that the audience gets a deeper understanding.”
Young Masuka actor Alex Shimizu, added to the intrigue, describing the finale as a “very, very surprising and intriguing story.” While keeping spoilers to a minimum, Shimizu assured fans, “If you’re someone who enjoys a show filled with humor and some drama, you’re going to really like that.”
But the question remains: Who is this season’s "big bad"? Could they have already made an appearance in the first few episodes? While February 14 may still feel far off, the clues might already be hiding in plain sight.
