Showtime and Paramount+ have released a 30-minute recap of Dexter Season 6 on YouTube, spotlighting the pivotal moments from what is widely regarded as the show’s most controversial season—and the first with Scott Buck as showrunner.
In Season 6, Dexter faces off against the "Doomsday Killers," a serial killer duo whose murders are inspired by apocalyptic imagery from the Book of Revelation. The pair, Professor James Gellar and his former student Travis Marshall, are convinced they're fulfilling a divine prophecy. In the ninth episode of the season, however, we discover that Gellar is merely a figment of Travis's imagination, having been killed by Travis years earlier. As Dex is drawn deeper into their case, he starts to question his own beliefs about life and mortality.
Meanwhile, Debra is promoted to lieutenant and begins therapy, where she confronts unsettling feelings about Dexter. The season culminates in a dramatic twist: Deb walks in on Dexter just as he kills Travis, exposing his darkest secret for the first time.
