A Dexter panel with Q&As took place on April 2nd at Steel City Con in Pennsylvania, and fans had the opportunity to ask questions to Julie Benz, Michael C. Hall, and Jennifer Carpenter. During the first few minutes of the panel, one of the fans asked Michael if he would like to be involved with the recently announced spinoff shows Showtime is planning on making. Michael's response was quite interesting.
Q: Is there a project you would like to see or be in returning to the the titular role whether it be as Harrison's dark passenger, or a young Dexter played by yourself. Any ideas you would personally like to be involved with?
A: "I do not think it would be a good idea for me to play a young Dexter at this point [laughs]. I think that ship sailed even before we started shooting the show" Michael said. He continued: "but I'm open to the possibility of being involved. It's all kind of theoretical at this point, but I'm curious to see what they come up with."
Another fan asked if there's any way a full lenght two and a half hour Dexter movie wolud happen.
"I've learned to never say never, but I feel like any further exploration of the world of Dexter is probably gonna happen on TV screen, though they make movie things for TV. Probably not."
But would he be open to do a story before New Blood?
"I never say never." Michael replied.
