We have a source that claims that the final three episodes of the series ramp up the action to such an extent (featuring a multitude of twists) that they are all being as closely-guarded as the season four and season seven finales have been. This amount of secrecy has apparently only been normal behavior for three previous episodes of the series, including the mid-season six Edward James Olmos twist for whatever unnecessary reason -- never before for this many episodes at a time.
Only the necessary editors and directors have access to the footage, whereas Showtime has a database for press and other affiliated members that have had early access to every episode except the aforementioned.
This is to be expected for the series finale, but this hopefully means that each upcoming episode is as big as the series' most shocking.
