Harrison Spinoff Series/Dexter: New Blood Season 2 Not Moving Forward at Showtime [Updated]

Looks like the Harrison-related sequel series has been cancelled.

Showtime

Earlier today, it was revealed by website TVLine.com that Showtime will be rebooting its most successful franchise, Dexter, in a brand new series about America's favorite serial killer's early years. What does that mean for Harrison Morgan?

Well, it's pretty certain that we're not going to see any continuation for his storyline. That's right, despite the fact that Dexter: New Blood was the most watched TV series in network's history, and its own showrunner Clyde Phillips was pretty positive about a follow-up series starring Jack Alcott, there was a big change in their plans.

The continuation to the finale of Dexter: New Blood would’ve found Harrison picking up where Dexter left off and the decision not to move forward is quite surprising we must say. Especially since the whole idea behind Harrison's character in the latest season was to take his father place in a new show as a new 'Dexter' (like father, like son).

Back on January 9th of 2022, following the finale of Dexter: New Blood "Sins of the Father", showrunner Clyde Phillips said that it is “all in Showtime’s hands,” when it comes to continuing Harrison's story: “If they were to call me and say, ‘We want to do a second season, we want you to figure it out,’ I’m pretty busy, but I would drop everything I’m doing and jump right into it. I would love to do it, but it’s really up to Showtime.”
