We have official confirmation of the first actor from the prequel appearing in the sequel!
It’s no secret that Dexter: Resurrection will bring back familiar faces alongside fresh characters, but now it's officially confirmed that at least one actor from the prequel series Dexter: Original Sin will also appear in the highly anticipated sequel.
The prequel, which premiered last December and captivated audiences until Valentine's Day, transported us back to 1991 Miami. There, we followed the formative years of young Dexter Morgan as he began his chilling evolution into a vigilante killer. With a stellar ensemble cast and powerful performances, Dexter: Original Sin became an instant favorite among fans of the franchise.
Now, as Dexter: Resurrection gears up for its premiere, fans have been treated to an unexpected reveal in the latest Inside Dexter: Resurrection featurette—complete with new footage. And yes, it confirms a connection that will thrill longtime viewers:
Eli Sherman, aka Little Dexter, is Back!
The young actor who portrayed 3-year-old Dexter Morgan in the haunting early-1970s flashbacks of Dexter: Original Sin will reprise his role in Resurrection. This cameo is not only exciting but also deepens the emotional bridge between the two series.
Now 7 years old, Eli Sherman returns in a powerful new scene filmed exclusively for Dexter: Resurrection. In it, he's once again seen sitting in a pool of Laura Moser’s blood—recreating the traumatic moment that shaped Dexter’s destiny. But this isn't recycled footage. The entire scene is brand new and tailored for Resurrection, placing young Dexter inside a shipping container while present day Dexter's still at the Iron Lake hospital, also known as the Seneca Nation Clinic.
Even more chilling: Michael C. Hall (Dexter Morgan) and James Remar (Harry Morgan) appear in the scene, standing inside the container as young Dexter stares at them in fear. This vision-like sequence promises to add depth to Dexter’s psyche and emotional state in the new series.
