Paramount+ Teases Major Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 Reveal Ahead of 20th Anniversary

It is now confirmed that something big regarding Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 is coming on October 1, the same day Dexter officially turns 20.

October is always going to be a special month for the franchise, but 2026 makes it even bigger. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the original Dexter series, which first premiered on Showtime on October 1, 2006. And just 29 days later, on October 30, Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 will finally premiere on Paramount+.

With the new season now only one month away, fans are still waiting for one major piece of the puzzle, and that is the full official trailer. Now, Paramount+ has given fans an exciting new tease that could point to something big coming very soon.

The tease came through the official Dexter social media accounts, and rather than going for something elaborate, Paramount+ actually put Jack Alcott, who plays Harrison Morgan, front and center.

In a new video, Alcott teased something special that appears to be coming ahead of Dexter's 20th anniversary on Thursday, October 1. While he stopped short of revealing exactly what Paramount+ has planned, Alcott confidently told followers:

"So we are one month away from Season 2, but we also have a very special anniversary coming up. It is 20 years of Dexter. And I have a feeling that there might be something very special coming."

And... that was enough to immediately get fans wondering what exactly he was hinting at.

Is the Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 Trailer Finally Coming?

We recently speculated that October 1, October 8, and October 9 could be the three most likely dates for the full official Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 trailer to arrive. Now, following this latest tease from Paramount+, October 1 definitely seems like an even more significant possibility.

The timing would make perfect sense. Dexter's 20th anniversary officially falls on October 1, making it a huge way for Paramount+ to celebrate two decades of the franchise, while releasing the full trailer that same day actually gives the promotional campaign a full month to build momentum ahead of the October 30 premiere.

Of course, Paramount+ has not confirmed that the trailer will arrive on October 1. For now, Alcott's comments are simply teasing that something special is on the way. But considering how close we are to both the anniversary and the Season 2 premiere, we may not have to wait much longer to find out.

Could the Official Key Art Also Be Revealed?

There is another reason why an October 1 reveal would make sense. In recent years, major franchise campaigns have often paired a full trailer release with the official key art. Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 may be no different.

In fact, fans already received a glimpse of the Season 2 key art on September 29, when Paramount+ Italia shared an Instagram post featuring part of the official artwork. The full poster has not yet been fully revealed by Paramount+, actually making the possibility of a trailer and official key art arriving together even bigger.
