Although filming on Season 2 is only 10 weeks in, a few scenes from Episode 8 have already been shot.
Cameras continue to roll on Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 in New York City, and after weeks without any notable set updates, a new batch of photos has surfaced online courtesy of Bauer-Griffin. What makes these images particularly interesting is that they were taken during the filming of Episode 8.
Does that actually mean there are only two episodes left to shoot before production wraps? Not quite.
Filming on the upcoming 10-episode season is still only about halfway complete. These newly released set photos appear to capture just one scene from Episode 8 that, for scheduling reasons related to filming locations, had to be shot earlier than the rest of the episode.
At this stage, it appears that the main production schedule is currently focused on either Episode 4 or Episode 5.
Behind-the-scenes photos from June 18 have suggested that scenes from two different episodes were being filmed in separate New York City locations on the same day, each with a different director. However, production briefly moved its attention to Episode 8 for scenes involving two new main characters who are expected to play a significant role in this next chapter of the series.
A close-up shot of the clapperboard, confirming the episode number:
Those characters are Fiona Mixon, played by Nona Parker Johnson, and her father, Captain Mixon, portrayed by Bokeem Woodbine. For those who haven't been keeping up with the updates, according to official information released by Paramount, both characters and especially Fiona, will share a close connection with Harrison Morgan.
The two actors were photographed in Manhattan's West Village on June 18, 2026, sitting side by side on a bench while in character and seemingly on duty. Director Erica Dunton, who is set to helm Episode 8, was also spotted on location, suggesting that the scene centers on the interaction between Fiona and Captain Mixon.
Both actors appeared to be in great spirits between takes, but for now, it's impossible to know exactly what is happening in the scene.
Be sure to stay tuned to Dexter Daily, as plenty of exciting updates are still on the way, including some official announcements.
