A couple of new casting calls for background roles in the upcoming season are now available.
The search for extras for background roles in Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 is still ongoing, which actually makes sense considering how important these roles are in making outdoor scenes feel real and natural. So far, several casting calls have gone out, and this is one of the latest.
For the upcoming fourth week of production in New York City, the team behind Dexter: Resurrection, along with Waldron Casting, is looking for people to play baseball fans, as well as individuals who own cars and can bring them to set for a scene. One thing to keep in mind is that there isn’t much time left to apply, so anyone interested should move quickly.
More specifically, the casting agency is looking for non-union men and women between the ages of 18 and their 50s, with no restrictions on ethnicity, to portray baseball fans this Thursday, May 7. Filming will take place outdoors in Queens, New York, with the casting call actually noting a “summer season” setting.
The call time for this scene is expected to be in the afternoon, with filming continuing late into the night. Fake rain will be used on set, so those selected will need to bring umbrellas. More details for anyone interested in applying are available through the casting notice, right here.
This marks the first time in many years that a Dexter scene will take place at a baseball field, which actually makes it especially interesting. What exactly happens there remains unknown as usual, and we’ll likely have to wait until the season airs to find out, unless set photos surface online through the photo agency that has been covering production so far.
Our theory is that this scene could involve Dexter watching a potential victim playing on the field, especially since scenes with artificial rain are often used for dark, and more dramatic moments.
As for the second casting call, it appears to take place in a parking lot, also in Queens, suggesting it will be connected to the baseball field scene. The production team will once again be using artificial rain.
Because this scene is set in a parking lot, anyone applying will actually need to bring their own car. Like the previous call, this one is open to non-union extras, giving fans a real chance to take part if selected. For this specific casting call, along with personal details, applicants will also need to provide information about their car, including the year, make, and color.
You can find everything you need to apply below. Good luck!
