Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 Already Underway — First Image Hints at Bloody Return

This exciting update signals that the second season of Dexter: Resurrection is closer than ever to beginning production.

Less than two weeks remain until Dexter: Resurrection begins filming its sophomore season, and earlier on Tuesday, one of the most meaningful (and honestly hype-generating) updates was shared online. And it actually came from none other than executive producer and writer Scott Reynolds.

With only days left before cameras start rolling again, the production team is putting the final touches in place. And for a series like Dexter, one of the most essential ingredients is of course... blood. Based on the first image shared by Reynolds, there will definitely be plenty of it!

More specifically, in his post on X, Reynolds teased the upcoming season in the simplest way possible by sharing a photo of white bottles filled with fake blood. As expected, the mixture actually varies depending on the scene, since different shots require different textures and shades. But in this case, the blood appears as red as Dexter’s iconic logo.

One cool detail everyone can notice is the pink Post-it notes placed on each bottle, labeled “Dexter: Fresh Blood.” It is of course a playful nod to the often misjudged miniseries from 2021 Dexter: New Blood, and exactly the kind of reference we love to see.

The post was accompanied by a caption that every fan will instantly recognize, a beloved quote from the very first episode of Dexter: “Blood. Sometimes it sets my teeth on edge. Other times it helps control the chaos.” Reynolds then followed it up with a short but exciting update: “Getting the blood together for season 2 of Dexter: Resurrection.”

So yes, unsurprisingly, season two will include blood. That might actually sound obvious like saying water is wet, but it does make you wonder who Dexter’s first victim will be this time around. That is something we will have to wait and see, but with filming about to begin, more updates should be coming very soon.
