As the countdown continues, the director for the first two episodes has now been confirmed.
The highly anticipated return of Dexter: Resurrection is right around the corner, as production on Season 2 is officially set to begin very soon. As the April 13 filming date nears, updates are coming in more often, offering a better view of what’s to come.
The story will once again take place in New York City, where key members of the production team are already on the ground preparing for the shoot.
While the filming start date has been known since last October, additional details have continued to emerge through interviews. We already know that series veteran Clyde Phillips and Scott Reynolds are writing the Season 2 premiere, with Scott Buck handling Episode 2. But now, there’s more.
We can confirm that Marcos Siega will direct both Episodes 1 and 2 of Dexter: Resurrection Season 2. Siega has deep ties to the show for decades now, and since 2025 he is serving as an executive producer and playing a major role behind the scenes.
His involvement in launching the new season actually means that the series wants to keep a consistent tone right from the start, especially since he also directed the most recently released episodes.
Of course, this approach mirrors what we’ve seen before. Siega also directed the opening episodes of Dexter: New Blood and Season 1 of Dexter: Resurrection, which suggests a deliberate pattern.
It is likely that Season 2 will actually continue this structure, with episodes directed in pairs and alternating directors throughout the season. For now, however, the director for Episodes 3 and 4 has not yet been announced.
As exciting as these updates are, they have only made our anticipation stronger, especially when it comes to casting news. Details about new and returning guest stars for Season 2 remain under wraps for now, but based on the announcements we received in Season 1, expectations are definitely high.
