Molly Brown Reveals the Deb Storyline She Wants in Dexter: Original Sin Season 2

The actress shares the Debra Morgan scene she's been dreaming of.

While all eyes are currently on Dexter: Resurrection, which continues to stream new episodes every Friday, fans shouldn't forget that the prequel series Dexter: Original Sin has officially been renewed for a second season—with production to begin hopefully soon.

Recently, the cast of Original Sin made a glamorous appearance at the red carpet premiere of Dexter: Resurrection in New York City. It was a heartfelt reunion for the prequel cast and a show of support for the highly anticipated sequel series—especially since Resurrection brings Michael C. Hall back in his iconic role as Dexter Morgan.

Among the attendees was Molly Brown, who plays teenage Debra Morgan in Original Sin. Although she's much older than the 17-year-old character she portrays, Brown continues to impress fans with her youthful energy and uncanny resemblance to a younger Deb.

Brown also recently appeared on Dexter: Final Cut, the official YouTube aftershow for Dexter: Resurrection. While breaking down Episode 5, “Murder Horny,” she offered a few fun teases about what she hopes to see in Season 2 of Original Sin—even though, by her own admission, she doesn’t know any official details yet.

When host Jamie Chung asked her what storyline she’d love to explore next season, Brown said:

“Well, all that comes to mind is… I’ve been doing a lot of workout classes. And when I’m in them, I imagine Deb in, like, a police academy training montage. That’s my motivation on the treadmill. I’m sprinting as fast as I can thinking, ‘This will be useful one day. This is for a reason.’ Because in my head, I’m gonna have to run at a full sprint on a treadmill. And I’m not gonna die until Season 8.”

She clarified with a laugh that her ideas are purely speculative:

“By the way, this is all pure speculation. I haven’t seen or heard anything. This is just, like, my dream scenario—and really what I need to tell myself to make those classes easier. But I think it’d be really fun.”

Brown also shared her hopes for a memorable new villain in Season 2:

“I hope that we get a fun new killer. One of the things that’s really great about our show is that you get that classic Dexter vibe, but with that pre-tech, '90s nostalgia. Honestly, that’s one of the best parts about being in this show—I get to read the scripts first and just know what happens.”

With Season 2 of Dexter: Original Sin on the horizon, fans are eager to see where the story goes next—and Molly Brown’s enthusiasm is infectious.
