Dexter: Resurrection Reportedly Renewed for Season 3 — Before Season 2 Is Even Announced

According to a credible report, the sequel series will soon be renewed for both a second and third season.

Dexter Morgan is back—and fans couldn’t be more thrilled. Michael C. Hall has officially returned in Dexter: Resurrection, and the buzz is real. The new series is currently streaming new episodes every Friday exclusively on Paramount+ Premium, and each week brings gripping twists, cinematic production value, and top-tier performances that are leaving audiences hooked.

Unlike Dexter: New Blood, which was designed as a limited series from the start, Dexter: Resurrection has always hinted at a longer journey. Ever since the show’s announcement a year ago, Michael C. Hall subtly suggested that the series might extend beyond just one season.

Fast forward to today: both Hall and returning showrunner Clyde Phillips have openly discussed their desire for Dexter: Resurrection to run for multiple seasons. That speculation turned into confirmation last month when executive producer and writer Scott Reynolds revealed that the story is being mapped out across three seasons, with potential for even more—depending on Hall’s interest in continuing the role.

Now, a fresh report from industry insider Daniel Richtman adds even more fuel to the fire. According to Richtman, Dexter: Resurrection has already been renewed for Season 3, despite no official word yet from Paramount+ or Showtime. This, of course, strongly implies that Season 2 is locked in, even if not publicly confirmed.

Richtman is a well-known independent Hollywood journalist with a solid track record, especially when it comes to scoops about major franchises. Notably, he accurately revealed Uma Thurman’s casting as Charley in Dexter: Resurrection a full month before it was officially announced—giving more credibility to his latest claim.

What to Expect in Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 and Beyond

While official announcements are still pending, fans are already buzzing with theories about what could happen next. New York City, the backdrop for this new chapter, feels like a natural fit for Dexter. Its gritty energy and sprawling chaos serve as the perfect stage for Dexter’s duality, and it’s quickly becoming a character in its own right.

The writing team is reportedly already working on Seasons 2 and 3, suggesting a well-planned narrative arc that will continue to evolve. With so much story left to tell, the question isn’t just if Dexter continues—it’s how far he’ll go.
