Newly released photos from June 2nd show both actors filming together at the same location.
Dexter: Resurrection is officially entering its final stretch. Production is wrapping up, and the team isn't wasting a moment. Just hours after appearing at the Dexter panel at CCXP in Mexico City this past Saturday, fan-favorite David Zayas flew straight back to New York City to shoot some of his final scenes for the highly anticipated first season of the sequel series.
The beloved actor—reprising his role as Angel Batista and now a series regular—was spotted filming outside the historic James B. Duke House, a stunning mansion located at 1 East 78th Street on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Joining him on set was none other than Uma Thurman, who plays the mysterious new character “Charley.”
Filming took place early in the morning, with the set buzzing with activity. Dozens of extras, the full production crew, acclaimed director Marcos Siega, and even David Zayas’ son, David Zayas Jr., were present. The younger Zayas has been on set for nearly every scene his father appears in—adding an extra layer of family connection to the production.
Sources suggest these scenes are likely part of the Dexter: Resurrection Season 1 finale, titled “And Justice For All…”, as revealed by Showtime.
While additional plot details remain tightly under wraps, a clue from the scene’s backdrop offers an intriguing hint. Outside the Duke House, two large blue banners were added by the production team. The banners read:
"Esteemed Guests, Welcome to the Tenth Annual Gala, Benefitting the New York City Police Foundation."
This strongly suggests that the scenes being filmed—both interior and exterior—are set during a high-profile NYPD Gala. Though no other cast members were spotted on location, it seems very likely that Captain Angel Batista is attending the event in an official capacity, possibly to deliver a speech. Thurman’s character, Charley, appears to be in attendance as well—possibly with her own motives.
With the season finale in sight, fans can expect emotional confrontations, long-awaited character reunions, and the kind of tense storytelling that made Dexter a household name.
