The sequel series may have a major presence at San Diego Comic-Con 2025.
The highly anticipated series premiere of Dexter: Resurrection is now less than a month away, and with July fast approaching, so begins the annual wave of speculation surrounding which TV shows and movies will make a splash at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC).
For those unfamiliar, San Diego Comic-Con is one of the largest and most iconic pop culture conventions in the world. Held annually in San Diego, California, SDCC originally began as a haven for comic book enthusiasts but has since evolved into a massive celebration of everything from movies and television to video games, anime, and collectibles. With exclusive trailers, celebrity panels, major studio announcements, and fan experiences, SDCC attracts tens of thousands of fans and industry insiders from around the globe.
Last year marked a significant milestone for Dexter fans. The franchise had its first in-person panel at SDCC in over a decade—since 2013. The focus was primarily on Dexter: Original Sin, which was already well into production at the time. The panel featured stars Patrick Gibson, Christian Slater, Molly Brown, Sara Michelle Gellar, along with Clyde Phillips and Scott Reynolds. But the biggest surprise? A surprise appearance by Michael C. Hall himself, followed by the thrilling announcement that he would be reprising his iconic role as Dexter Morgan in Dexter: Resurrection.
Now, as SDCC 2025 draws near (scheduled for July 24–27), there’s growing buzz that Dexter: Resurrection will once again take center stage. While no official panel has been confirmed yet, a strong clue surfaced earlier today: Comic-Con's latest announcement regarding badge distribution was heavily themed around Dexter: Resurrection. As seen in the image above, they even reworked the newspaper headline from the recent sequel teaser to promote the badge distribution. Since badges serve as official credentials granting access to panels and events, this promotional move strongly suggests a significant presence for the series at this year’s convention.
As of now, there’s no word on which cast members or producers might attend, but if last year’s surprise is any indication, fans should expect something big.
