Dexter Exits Netflix in June 2025 — Remains Available Internationally

Find out the exact date the series will be leaving the streaming platform.

If you’ve been planning a Dexter binge, now’s the time to hit play. The acclaimed crime drama, which originally aired from 2006 to 2013, is scheduled to leave Netflix in the United States—exactly one year after making its long-awaited return to the platform.

With Dexter: Resurrection set to premiere on July 11, fan anticipation is at an all-time high. Many are revisiting the original series to relive classic moments and prepare for the next chapter in Dexter Morgan’s dark journey.

A Short-Lived Return to Netflix

Dexter returned to Netflix U.S. in June 2024 after nearly four years away, giving fans both new and old a chance to (re)discover the show. But like many streaming deals, this one came with an expiration date. The one-year licensing agreement between Netflix and Paramount helped reintroduce the series to a wider audience and build momentum for its upcoming projects.

And it definitely did the trick.

When Will Dexter Be Removed from Netflix U.S.?

According to industry reports, Dexter will exit Netflix’s U.S. library on June 19, 2025. That means June 18 will be your last full day to stream all eight seasons on the platform.

Good news for fans outside the U.S.—Dexter will remain available in select countries, including the United Kingdom and Canada, until at least March 31, 2026. So if you're abroad, there's still plenty of time to catch up.

What's Next?

If you can’t finish your rewatch before it departs Netflix, don’t worry. All eight original seasons, along with the follow-up miniseries Dexter: New Blood, are streaming on Paramount+. That’s also where the upcoming sequel Dexter: Resurrection will debut, making it the new home for everything Dexter Morgan.
