Dexter: Resurrection Season 1 – Episode Count and Directors Revealed for the Sequel Series

We now have official confirmation regarding the total number of episodes.

Dexter: Resurrection is currently in its third week of production, with filming officially commencing on Thursday, January 9. Notably, this date also marks the third anniversary of the Dexter: New Blood finale. The highly anticipated new chapter in the Dexter saga takes place in New York City, offering fans a fresh and completely new location for the series.

During last summer's San Diego Comic-Con, showrunner Clyde Phillips surprised and excited fans with the announcement of this new installment in the Dexter franchise. Initially, Michael C. Hall was the only confirmed returning actor. However, this changed on January 7, when Showtime unveiled exciting casting news via their official Dexter social media accounts.

David Zayas (Angel Batista), James Remar (Harry Morgan), and Jack Alcott (Harrison Morgan) are officially reprising their iconic roles as series regulars, adding even more excitement to the upcoming series.

One of the biggest casting announcements has taken the fandom by storm: Uma Thurman is joining Dexter: Resurrection as a series regular. Thurman will play the character Charley, described as the "Head of Security" for mysterious billionaire Leon Prater. Charley is a former Special Ops officer with extensive experience in high-level private security, making her the meticulous and resourceful right-hand woman to Prater.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the announcement of the actor who will portray Leon Prater, a role that seems central to the new season's storyline.

Season 1 Episode Count for Dexter: Resurrection

The inaugural season of Dexter: Resurrection will feature 10 episodes, following the same format as Dexter: New Blood and Dexter: Original Sin.

Dexter: Resurrection Directors

The creative team behind Dexter: Resurrection brings familiar talent back to the director’s chair. Former Chicago Fire star Monica Raymund, who directed four episodes of Dexter: Original Sin, will return to direct four episodes of Resurrection.

Additionally, Marcos Siega, known for his work on the early seasons of the original series and Dexter: New Blood, is set to direct six episodes. Siega previously helmed six episodes of New Blood in 2021, ensuring continuity in the visual and narrative style of the franchise.
