Watch Dexter: Original Sin Stars Suggest Creative Nicknames for the Dexter Fandom

Is "Masukies" by Alex Shimizu a good nickname for Dexter fans? Absolutely!

We’ve officially reached the peak of the Dexter: Original Sin promotion as the highly anticipated prequel series is set to premiere next Friday, December 13.

The prequel set in 1991 Miami, it follows Dexter’s journey from student to avenging serial killer. As his bloodlust becomes impossible to suppress, Dexter must learn to harness his dark urges. With his father Harry’s guidance, he adopts a Code to help him identify and eliminate those who deserve punishment, all while staying off the police’s radar. This proves especially challenging for young Dexter as he embarks on a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.

One of the latest promotional efforts from Showtime and Paramount+ features a fun video filmed on the Sunday the cast returned to CBS Radford Studios for press activities, including a photoshoot for promotional materials and other videos. In one of these videos, four of the Dexter: Original Sin cast members share their suggestions for fan nicknames.

Patrick Gibson, playing it safe, suggests “Dexperts,” a term long associated with Dexter fans. Meanwhile, Molly Brown, who portrays teenage Deb, proposes “Dexheads.” Not bad, Molly!

Christina Milian, actress and singer, offers "Dexdopians," explaining, “First off, they love Dexter, watching Dexter is like, dope to them, and this is in the 90s!”

The funniest suggestion comes from Alex Shimizu, who plays a younger version of Vince Masuka. He first throws out “the Masuka-verse” before offering “Masukies,” which according to him sounds more like a dessert.

We’re definitely on board with Shimizu’s “Masukies.” It’s the way to go!
