Official Synopsis for the Series Premiere of Dexter: Original Sin, Titled "Original Sin"

Showtime has released the synopsis for the pilot episode of the Dexter prequel.


Only 12 days remain until the highly anticipated premiere of Dexter: Original Sin. The prequel series, which officially wrapped production on November 21, has several cast members preparing for upcoming events this month. The first of these will take place on December 7 in São Paulo, Brazil.

The series premiere is set to debut on Paramount+ with Showtime on Friday, December 13, ahead of its on-air U.S. debut on Sunday, December 15. "Original Sin", written by showrunner Clyde Phillips and directed by Michael Lehmann, promises to set the tone for this exciting new chapter. The synopsis references Dexter's very first human kill: Nurse Mary. Fans of the original series, which ran from 2006 to 2013, may recall this pivotal moment being explored through flashbacks in Dexter Season 1, Episode 3. However, Dexter: Original Sin is set to revisit this iconic scene, offering a more in-depth retelling with added layers of detail. This remake promises to give fans a deeper understanding of the events surrounding Dexter's first step into his dark path.
