Dexter: Final Cut – Watch the Official Weekly After-Show for Dexter: Original Sin Episode 1 Now!

Showtime launches Dexter: Final Cut, a companion after-show for Dexter: Original Sin.

Showtime welcomes Dexter fans to Dexter: Final Cut, the official weekly after-show for Dexter: Original Sin. Hosted by former Dexter: New Blood guest star Jamie Chung and featuring special guest, executive producer and writer Scott Reynolds, the premiere episode takes a deep dive into the Dexter universe.

This new YouTube series replaces the beloved Dexter Wrap-Up Podcast, which is currently on hold. The original podcast, introduced in 2012 during Dexter Season 7 and revived in 2021 for Dexter: New Blood, is temporarily shelved as its host Scott Reynolds is busy with both Dexter: Original Sin and Dexter: Resurrection. The latter is set to begin filming in less than a month.

The first episode of Dexter: Final Cut featured some intriguing reveals. Its first guest, Scott Reynolds, shared details about casting Patrick Gibson as Dexter Morgan, saying:

"We looked at a lot of actors... but when Patrick showed up, John Papsidera, our amazing casting director, said, 'This is the guy.' He had the look, the temperament, the voice—everything. Without him, we wouldn’t have a show."

Reynolds also shared a heartwarming story about Michael C. Hall visiting the recreated Miami Metro set for the prequel:

"There was a moment when we were filming a scene where Michael’s character dies and comes back to life. I asked if he wanted to see the Miami Metro set, and he said yes. Watching him absorb and react to the set was magical. He even sat in his old chair at Miami Metro Homicide—it was like time had stopped." Reynolds added, "Moments like these remind me how lucky I am to be part of this incredible world."
