Dexter: Final Cut – Christina Milian and Host Jamie Chung Explore Dexter: Original Sin Episode 3

The actress portraying a young Maria LaGuerta shares insights on the latest episode.

We’re already three episodes into Dexter: Original Sin, with the latest two episodes released on the same day—a decision made shortly after the pilot debuted on Paramount+ with Showtime. The reception has been overwhelmingly positive, particularly for Episode 3, titled "Miami Vice."

In this episode, a controversial character from the original series makes her debut. As the prequel format allows, we witness her first day on the job, met with a notably frosty reception—especially from the department’s Captain, Aaron Spencer. Of course, we’re talking about Maria LaGuerta, now in her early 30s and portrayed by the acclaimed actress and singer Christina Milian.

Milian was the special guest on Episode 3 of Dexter: Final Cut, the official weekly after-show for Dexter: Original Sin, hosted by former Dexter: New Blood guest star Jamie Chung. Together, they delved into the origins of LaGuerta’s iconic character, the dramatic twists of "Miami Vice," and everything in between.

During the after-show, Milian shared behind-the-scenes insights, including the fun she had on set—especially with young Masuka actor Alex Shimizu, whom she affectionately described as "a baby." Both Chung and Milian expressed optimism about the likelihood of Dexter: Original Sin being renewed for a second season.
