Only 33 days remaining until the premiere, and filming for the season finale is in full swing.
Another week on the set has wrapped, filled with final shooting days for several main actors in the prequel, including James Martinez, who plays a younger version of the beloved Angel Batista.
More cast members took to Instagram to announce they had finished filming for "Season 1" of Dexter: Original Sin. But first, let’s spotlight an exciting new addition to the Dexter prequel cast: Jeff Daniel Phillips.
On Friday, executive producer and writer Scott Reynolds revealed that Phillips, known for his roles in Westworld and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, has joined the series. While no details about his character have been shared, Reynolds expressed his enthusiasm on X with an image of himself and Phillips, captioned, "I can’t wait for you all to see how great Jeff Daniel Phillips is in the new season of Dexter: Original Sin. I’ve always been a fan of his work with Rob Zombie, so it was a dream to have him on the show."
On October 22, Jeff Daniel Phillips shared his excitement about working on the Dexter prequel, tweeting, "All I can say is working on this new show is a blast; top-tier cast, crew, and writing team. Excited for Dexter: Original Sin to air 12/15."
The week also kicked off with special guest star Sarah Michelle Gellar posting behind-the-scenes photos from the Miami Metro set at CBS Radford Studios. The beloved actress captioned her Instagram photos, “For my last day of the season with Patrick Dempsey, I obviously had to wear something special. Who recognizes it?”
The shirt was a nod to Patrick Dempsey’s 1989 romantic comedy Loverboy, in which he played a pizza driver-turned-gigolo. As seen in the image below, crew members—including director Michael Lehmann and writer Mary Leah Sutton—joined in the fun by wearing matching shirts on the Miami Metro set.
It's unclear whether Sarah Michelle Gellar has wrapped filming on Dexter: Original Sin entirely for this year, or if she was simply referring to scenes featuring both her and Patrick Dempsey. The duo, among the most exciting additions to the Dexter prequel cast, seem to be enjoying their time on set, with their friendship blossoming even further thanks to the show!
Molly Brown, the young actress portraying 17-year-old Deb Morgan, is another main cast member who has wrapped filming all her scenes for Dexter: Original Sin. Below is a mirror selfie she shared from her trailer between takes.
The next day, Brown shared an image on her Instagram stories of a delicious farewell cake made for her by the cast and crew.
The vanilla cake featured a chocolate inscription reading: "Congratulations, Molly! That’s a wrap on Season 1. Love you - Cast + Crew," subtly hinting that Dexter: Original Sin may be planning for more seasons if the series proves successful.
Stay tuned for more exciting updates on Dexter: Original Sin in the coming days!
