Jennifer Carpenter Joins 'The Evil Within' Voice Cast [Video]

It's been almost a year since the finale of Dexter, and Jennifer Carpenter has joined another project, this time for a video game. via EW: Resident Evil‘s creator, Shinji Mikami, is looking to strike fear into the hearts of players everywhere once again with his new game, The Evil Within. The title’s publisher, Bethesda Softworks, confirmed today that Mikami will have help from a voice cast full of actors who are no strangers to the genre.

Bethesda revealed that Watchmen and Freddy Krueger himself Jackie Earle Haley, as well as Dexter‘s Jennifer Carpenter, will voice some of the game’s main roles.

The Evil Within follows Detective Sebastian Castellanos, who Bethesda announced will be voiced by Hell on Wheels‘ Anson Mount. Castellanos and his partner Juli Kidman are thrown into a terrifying world of monsters and other horrors after they investigate a mass murder.

Haley stars as the antagonist, Ruvik, while Carpenter plays Castellanos’ partner Kidman in what marks a video game voice-over debut for both actors. While Kidman will likely not be as foul-mouthed as Carpenter’s previous detective character on Dexter, she’s certainly suited to the role—as is Haley, known for his turns as Rorschach and Krueger in the Nightmare on Elm Street reboot. The Evil Within launches on Oct. 14 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Windows PC.

Michael C. Hall Returns to TV to Star In Stanley Kubrick's 'God Fearing Man' Miniseries

Michael C. Hall is returning to the small screen. Nearly a year after the Emmy nominee wrapped Showtime's Dexter after an eight-season run, Hall is set to star in Stanley Kubrick's unproduced drama God Fearing Man, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

God Fearing Man tells the true story of Canadian minister Herbert Emerson Wilson, who went on to become one of the best safecrackers and most successful American bank robbers in the early 20th century. Hall will star as Wilson and executive produce the drama, which was first put into development as a potential series at independent studio Entertainment One in August 2012. The project will be produced as a miniseries, with eOne shopping it to networks.

EOne is producing the drama in association with Philco Films' Steve Lanning (The Secret Garden, The World of Eddie Weary) and Philip Hobbs, who worked with Kubrick for more than 15 years on projects including Full Metal Jacket. Michael Rosenberg and Adam Blumberg will oversee on behalf of the studio. Bill Kelman will executive produce, with eOne handling worldwide rights to the series in all media.

"Kubrick's God Fearing Man presents a larger-than-life story with a complicated protagonist who undergoes a radical transformation. We knew we had to secure a leading man with the immense talent and charisma needed to carry the project, and we were dedicated to putting in the diligent time and effort to find the perfect fit,” said Rosenberg, eOne Television’s exec vp U.S. scripted television. “We cannot be more pleased to have Michael on board, who has time and again demonstrated an uncanny ability to portray captivating characters who must grapple with fundamental internal struggles.”

Hall earned five lead actor in a drama series Emmy nominations for his portrayal of Dexter Morgan, the serial killer with a code on Showtime's Dexter — which he also exec produced — as well as one nomination for his co-starring turn on HBO's Six Feet Under. Since Dexter wrapped last year, Hall has remained busy with indie film Cold in July and Broadway's The Realistic Joneses. He's also attached to adapt Matthew Specktor's American Dream Machine for Showtime with former Dexter showrunner Scott Buck attached.
Meanwhile, Showtime remains mum on a potential Dexter spinoff, which network president David Nevins said would have to involve Hall.

Hall is repped by UTA, Authentic Talent and Peikoff Mahan.

Alternate/New Dexter Series Ending (with Unaired Footage)

As divergent as the reactions were to the original ending, it seems that the series could have ended on a high note at the end of season 7. As we're approaching the anniversary of the series' conclusion, today we have a new, alternate ending... that may be just what people that wanted to forgo season 8 needed for a sense of closure. Not to discredit the work that went into season 8; there were still some great episodes in the mix and I commend the original ending for a unique conclusion of exile. Nonetheless, a well-edited alternate ending for the series should be welcome.

This ending seems to make the most sense based on the footage available to work with. Dexter's sense of survival wouldn't allow him to kill himself (as the producers pointed out), though at this point in his character evolution he would sacrifice himself for the sake of a loved one as he reminisces about the effect he's having on Deb, the world, and potentially Harrison. While I'd prefer for Dexter to jump in front of LaGuerta, no amount of editing could have made that possible.

I had spent hours (over six, at the least) meticulously finding and choosing footage, and polishing this to look as professional as possible (watching it a couple dozen times before uploading... this could've easily been twice the length but footage was cut to make for the most seamless conclusion). If I was going to create an alternate ending for a beloved series, I figured I'd spend the time to do it right.

In fact, a lot of the footage and voiceovers used here most fans haven't seen/heard. The majority of the footage has been completely edited, from color correcting to the sounds to the music to the voiceovers all to make for a perfect viewing experience.

If you were so inclined, you could edit/pause the season 7 finale to add this ending as your conclusion to the series.

*While I didn't create this to promote the site (it was more a fan's labor of love...), definitely check out the original props still available (300+ at the time of upload) at http://dexterauction.com

Spoiler: Michael C. Hall is even a proponent of this as an alternate ending, stating "Sometimes I wish he'd offed himself, wish he'd died, wish Deb had shot him in that compartment."

Dexter Alum C.S. Lee to Guest Star In Season 10 of 'Criminal Minds'

via Zap2it: Agent Masuka is taking on a new identity. C.S. Lee, who famously played the loveable, and sometimes creepy, agent Vince Masuka on Dexter, has been added to "Criminal Minds" Season 10 in a guest starring role.

The actor will reportedly play a disturbed high school English teacher with a deadly obsession. The obsession stems out of being traumatized by his overbearing father who would lock him and his brother in a shed for hours to punish them for bad grades.
