Over the past few months, since filming began on the second season of Dexter: Resurrection, there have been quite many official announcements revealing famous new actors who have joined the cast. While the biggest casting reveals have come directly from Paramount+, some actors don't always receive a public announcement, leaving fans to wonder whether they might be part of the show.
And that is exactly what some fans have been suspecting about Titus Welliver after spotting him in photos from Dexter's recent 20th anniversary celebration in New York City, held at the location of the Dexter fan experience museum.
Fans who actually noticed the actor among the guests posing on the red carpet began asking the same question: Could Welliver have secretly joined Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 in a specific role without being officially announced?
We received quite many messages about these rumors through our official Dexter Daily Instagram account over the past few days, and honestly, we couldn't simply ignore them.
Why Fans Think Titus Welliver Could Join Dexter: Resurrection
One of the main reasons fans have started speculating about Welliver's possible involvement is that the former Bosch and Bosch: Legacy star would be a great fit for Dexter: Resurrection. In fact, it's actually easy to imagine him playing a villain, given the kind of roles he has taken on throughout his career.
Of course, his appearance at the anniversary celebration is not confirmation that he has joined the cast. However, we cannot help but wonder about the timing of his appearance and the nature of the event itself.
It's worth noting that not everyone invited to Dexter-related events is necessarily connected to the franchise. Some guests are simply well-known fans of the show who receive invitations to attend special occasions, whether it's a world premiere or an anniversary celebration like the one held in New York City on October 8.
Could Welliver Be Keeping a Secret Role Under Wraps?
So... while Welliver may simply have attended the event after receiving an invitation, we can't completely rule out the possibility that he has secretly landed a role in Dexter: Resurrection Season 2, with his appearance at the celebration potentially offering a clue.
For now, though, there is no official confirmation of his involvement, so fans should take these rumors with a grain of salt.
That said, if Welliver does end up joining the series, we would absolutely be here for it. He has everything it takes to play a compelling antagonist, whether in a smaller "weekly" role or as one of the season's major villains. And considering the caliber of actors actually joining the new season, we certainly wouldn't complain about seeing him face off against Dexter Morgan.
