Jack Alcott Reveals How He Spent His Days Off on Dexter: Resurrection Set – Plus New Sneak Peeks

Following yesterday's world premiere, the actor appeared on CBS Mornings Plus today.

We’re just hours away from the highly anticipated release of the first two episodes of Dexter: Resurrection, premiering exclusively on Paramount+ with Showtime — now known as Paramount+ Premium. As excitement builds, cast members have been making appearances to promote the series, and fan-favorite Jack Alcott, who plays Harrison Morgan, was among them.

Earlier today, Alcott appeared on CBS Mornings Plus for a brief but impactful interview. Though short, the segment served as a teaser for Dexter: Resurrection, including brand-new footage from Episode 1, titled “A Beating Heart…” — all of which you can watch in the video at the end of this article.

Harrison Returns: What’s Next After 'New Blood'?

In the new series, Harrison is trying to move forward after the harrowing events of Dexter: New Blood. During the interview, it was hinted that Harrison might even find romance this season. But while he’s attempting to build a new life in New York City, the ghosts of his past aren't far behind.

So, what can fans expect from Harrison this time around?

"At least for Harrison," Alcott shared, "you know, we see him trying to live a normal life and escape everything that he's just come from in New Blood. And I think with some relative success initially. But just that amount of trauma — everything that he's trying to run from — it's just a little too much, and it's gonna catch up to him, I think, pretty quickly."

On Working with Michael C. Hall: Building That Father-Son Tension

One of the most compelling aspects of New Blood was the complex dynamic between Harrison and his serial killer father, Dexter Morgan. Alcott opened up about how that on-screen relationship was crafted:

"Plenty of it was just watching Michael. When we started New Blood, we decided to really get to know each other, so we could make the dynamic feel real. We shot out of sequence, so we spent time together off-set — hanging out, getting comfortable. And beyond that, it’s about finding the intensity. The story gives it to you. If you’ve got intensity in your eyes and you’ve got a knife, the story helps fill in the rest."

A Front-Row Seat to Acting Greatness

Even when he wasn't filming, Alcott chose to stay on set — soaking up the craft from the series' seasoned cast.

"There’s always something to learn. But with a cast like this, each individual is their own master class. There are so many actors I’ve admired growing up. So yeah, I’m gonna come watch the big dogs work when I don’t have to. It was spectacular."
