Showtime released the official plot synopsis for the first season of Dexter: Resurrection.
Ever since the announcement of the new Dexter sequel series at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2024, fans have been eagerly asking: What is Dexter: Resurrection about? Now, after months of speculation, set photos from New York City, and endless theories, we finally have answers — straight from the official synopsis that accompanied the release of the chilling teaser.
Filming for Dexter: Resurrection began in January 2025, and while dozens of behind-the-scenes images hinted at the tone and setting of the show, the storyline remained tightly under wraps — until now.

"Dexter: Resurrection, a continuation of Dexter: New Blood, picks up just weeks after Dexter Morgan takes a bullet to the chest from his own son. Awakening from a coma to find Harrison missing without a trace, Dexter is consumed by guilt and sets off for New York City, determined to find his son and make things right. But redemption doesn’t come easily. When Miami Metro’s Angel Batista shows up with questions, Dexter realizes his dark past is closing in fast. Harrison, Batista, and the Emotional Core of the New Chapter
