Dexter: Original Sin One-Week Hiatus in Season 1: What to Expect and When It Happens

A hiatus is ahead of us for the first season of the Dexter prequel.

Dexter: Original Sin made its highly anticipated debut on Paramount+ with Showtime on December 13. Although we’re already two weeks into the first season, three episodes are available for fans to binge. It's a thrilling early Christmas gift for Dexter fans, who are now eagerly awaiting the next episode, titled "Fender Bender," set to drop on December 27.

Though we received two episodes instead of one on the same day—thanks to a "last-minute" scheduling decision by Paramount+—there’s a catch: this double-episode release will lead to a one-week hiatus for the series, marking the first-ever hiatus in the Dexter franchise since 2006.

Since Yellowjackets Season 3 premieres on Valentine's Day (February 14, 2025), the Season 1 finale of Dexter: Original Sin (originally set to air one episode per week) will now be aligned as initially scheduled with the network's other successful series. As a result, a hiatus has been planned between episodes 106, "The Joy of Killing," and 107, "The Big Bad Body Problem," of the Dexter prequel.

This means there will be no new Dexter: Original Sin episode from January 11 to January 23. Below is the episode schedule for the remaining seven episodes of Dexter: Original Sin.
