The Dexter prequel will complete production next month.
Production for Dexter: Original Sin is in full swing in Los Angeles, where the cast is currently filming at CBS Radford Studios and on various locations styled to evoke the feel of old-school Miami.
The prequel series stars Patrick Gibson as a young Dexter Morgan, with Christian Slater as Harry and Molly Brown as a teenage Deb. The supporting cast includes James Martinez as Batista, Alex Shimizu as Masuka, and Christina Milian as LaGuerta. Notable additions to the ensemble are Sarah Michelle Gellar and Patrick Dempsey.
The first season will feature ten episodes. Filming, which began on June 5th in Miami, is expected to conclude between mid and late November, though the exact date has not yet been confirmed.
Dexter: Original Sin is set to premiere on Friday, December 13, for Paramount+ subscribers with the Paramount+ with Showtime plan, before making its on-air debut in the US on Sunday, December 15. It will also begin rolling out internationally on Paramount+ on December 13.
The series follows Dexter as he transitions from student to avenging serial killer. Struggling to suppress his bloodthirsty urges, Dexter learns to channel his inner darkness with the guidance of his father, Harry. He adopts a Code to help him target and eliminate those who deserve to be removed from society, all while avoiding detection by law enforcement—a particular challenge as he starts a forensics internship at Miami Metro Police Department.
