The beloved actor avoided revealing whether he would return in Dexter: Resurrection.
Last Sunday was Emmy night, and it turned out to be a spectacular one for the Zayas family. Liza Colón-Zayas, who stars in FX's hit series The Bear, won her very first Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Tina Marrero. Her husband, David Zayas, also appeared on The Bear this season in episodes 301 and 306, portraying David Marrero. He was proudly by her side at the ceremony, as seen in the image above.
On the red carpet of the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards, David was asked by Deadline's Rosy Cordero about a potential return in the highly anticipated Dexter: New Blood sequel, Dexter: Resurrection. While he didn’t give a direct answer, he shared, "Anytime I can be in the Dexter world, it’s a wonderful thing. Yeah, there are a few shows coming out, and I’m very excited to watch them."
Fans of Dexter will be pleased to hear that Angel Batista, portrayed by David Zayas, is expected to return for Dexter: Resurrection (though it's not yet officially confirmed). Many were left wanting more after Dexter: New Blood wrapped up without a final confrontation between Dexter and Batista, which was a significant point of dissatisfaction with the series finale, "Sins of the Father."
