In a recent interview with "Inside of You" Julie Benz discussed how she felt back in 2009, when the showrunners of Dexter decided to surprisingly kill Rita off the show.
"Getting killed off Dexter was pretty bad, I had no idea that was coming. I didn't know until three days before. They called me to the producers room, and I knew. When you're getting called by the producers, you're getting killed off the show... you just know that". She also revealed that she suffered from panic attacks afterwards.
