“I’ve been an advocate for having a dialog with the writers and getting a sense of how to best bring this story home — not wrap everything up with a tidy bow, but find some sort of conclusion,” Morgan told EW earlier this month on the Dexter set. “There has to be an end game. Once Deb found out, it felt like we were moving toward a place where the world as Dexter knew it would end.”
Season eight premieres June 30. Once the show wraps in early July, Hall says he’s not looking to sign on to another series, yet noted that he said the same thing after finishing his previous show, Six Feet Under, in 2005 (and then dove into Dexter, which launched the next year).
“I don’t imagine I’ll jump right back into something, but such amazing things are happening on television, to rule it out entirely would be silly,” Hall says. “I look forward to finding out what life feels like without Dexter.”
