Via: LATimes: Michael C. Hall of "Dexter" fame has listed his house in the Hollywood Hills at $1.995 million.
Built in 1933 as a Spanish-style home with a red tile roof, the house was modernized by mid-century architect Hal Levitt, who used it as his personal residence for four decades starting in 1964.
Large windows bring light into the vaulted-ceiling living room. The redesigned kitchen opens to a patio with a fire pit adjacent to the backyard pool. The 3,535-square-foot house features four bedrooms and five bathrooms. There is a gym/guest bedroom on the lower level.
Hall, 41, has starred as Dexter Morgan since 2006 and was on "Six Feet Under" from 2001-05. He and his second wife, actress Jennifer Carpenter, divorced in December.
Jeff Kohl & Josh Myler at the Agency are the listing agents, according to the company's website.

ReplyDeleteHe likes orchids. Evidently.
ReplyDeleteActually, I'm a tad suspicious re: the orchids. They keep moving about, appearing in different places in different shots.
DeleteNot that I've meticulously scoured every last pixel of the photos... That would be wrong. So wrong.
I'm just saying... The orchids are moving about!
I actually love orchids.
Ok I'm going to shut up now.
Cool looking house thanks for the link
ReplyDeleteThere are more photos on www.zillow.com (sorry don't know how to do links).
ReplyDeleteIn one photo you can see his small collection of golden globes (for Dexter and Six Feet Under cast, I assume). I actually prefer the little blue car that sits just underneath them. Cute.
Fascinating...
How do I find that? I really want to see that.
DeleteActually, there's one golden globe and three SAG awards. Plus one other I don't recognise.
DeleteAccolades, eh? He has a nice little collection.
Someone once said:
"Awards are like hemorrhoids... Eventually every asshole gets one."
;)

ReplyDeleteThey left out the pictures of his kill room?
ReplyDeleteHa. Only his 'victims' get to see that. It's very special.
Delete7039 Senalda Rd, Los Angeles.. It isn't gated.. i would assume that is a problem for him also.. Poor guy his privacy has just be totally exposed... I will say that the awards above the bar is cool... and i imagine many of his personal touches have been taken out... But the house is very fitting.. very compartmentalized (he uses this word a lot)... I am going to be in LA on sunday for the Licht music thing (with special guest!!)
ReplyDeleteYou lucky fool (getting to see the Licht show.) I am jealous of that. I also thought that was nice about how the awards were "displayed," and pushed out of the way. Of course, like you said, the house was likely staged to "depersonalize" it, since it is for sale.
DeleteI might want to be more selective of using the word "fool." I don't mean anything by it. Some people might take it the wrong way, if they aren't used to it being used in a friendly way.
DeleteIt almost looks like he's already moved out bar the awards and pictures/art on the wall. I say 'almost' as (a) the bed sheet looks creased and slept in ;) (b) I'm not sure but in one of the bedrooms I think there's a promo picture-print of Six Feet Under on the wall, the internal shot of the cast with all the roses on the ground (cool artwork, btw, love the SFU art).
DeleteI'm assuming this is the house he shared with Carpenter. It's kind of sad that he's now selling. It's an interesting house, for sure. An interesting space. A bit clinical for my taste but then again as someone said it looks depersonalised...
I'm sure he'll have no problems selling it.
Matt Gerard joined cast of dexter
ReplyDeleteBeautiful house! Its a shame he wants to sell it
ReplyDeleteAlmost 2 billion! I mean its a nice house but c'mon
ReplyDelete2 million
ReplyDeleteI am going to drive by tomorrow... I'll let y'all know
ReplyDeletePICTURES!!!
Deleteokay I drive by the house and the realtor was holding an open house... that led me to do one thing.... be a potential buyer.... i went in and the house is very odd, very small and tons of stairs and walls... it smelled very woods-y but I could tell they wanted to cover up the cat smell... tons of cat hair in the rugs and some cat toys about.... I don't honk anyone ran a vacuum through it before they left... the realtor was not taking offers immediately but would submit only multiple offers down the line.... they had a security guy and he was protecting the laundry room which had the cats and probably mch's computer/ awards... he still lives there and looks to have left earlier in the day, dishes in he sink and water on the shower.... orange towels and lots of bright orange.... mch's running shoes and clothes were still in the closet.... I don't think anyone there knew who the house belonged too... the house suits him completely... and I didn't find a kill room... and I hope mch doesn't read this... lol !! okay I'll report back I I meet him tonight at the Licht show
ReplyDeleteOh wow. Thanks for this feedback! How very interesting. Am loving your little details, especially about the cats (cute) and dishes in the sink etc. did you see his bedroom? What did it smell like? Feel like? I got to know. Any further details you remember, please tell us. What did you think of his artwork/furniture choices? Plus, surprised you found it small as the photos make it look quite big and spacious. Questions, questions.. !
DeleteAlso, look forward to your Licht evening feedback. I don't even live in the US so FEED ME please... !!!
His bedroom is very plain... I dont even think there was a tv in there.. His closet was not filled with clothes, tons of collar long sleeve shirts and neatly arranged running shoes... It honestly was a total bachelor pad, i think Jennifer must have taken a ton of the furniture and he just bought a few pieces... The house was void of any of him memorabilia, probably for a reason, althought it may just be the way he likes things... The house was very woodsy smelling/ Cedar type smell, the home was very neat and everything had a place, tons of books, nothing too exciting... The artwork was interesting, lots of orange color's ... I think it suited him perfectly but could not imagine a family or older couple living there, too many stairs and very narrow... A lot of it resembled the "dexter" apartment... And the Licht show was wonderful.. I went to the bar for a beer and 5 seconds later this door opens and Michael C Hall is standing next to me, saying to the bartender "just a red wine, thanks bud".. His arm was touching mine.. I almost died and couldn't move... He speaks so quietly and gentle that i now believe he is a truly brilliant actor because even his "dexter" voice is carefully planned and executed...
ReplyDeleteThanks Bree for taking the time to feedback further. Truly appreciate it :)
DeleteI know this sounds weird but I really, really want to know how Michael smells....
Ok. I know, I know... I'm weird...
How did his touch feel against your arm? I think it would have made all my hairs and stuff stand up on end!!!! Ha. God, I just can't stop perving over him. There's something wrong with me.
Yes, the gentle voice is a seduction in itself.
YOU are now my official eyes, ears and nose.... ;)
i didn't smell any cologne on him.. His house was very woodsy smelling.. it might have been the tree's too... But his place was very sparce and everything was put away.. No sign of a woman... I think Jennifer must have taken all the good furniture... good on her! His arm was boney.. LOL.. he is verrrry attractive in person.. sometimes angles in pictures are odd but he is very attractive and lean.. but not scary skinny (like during cancer) but also not muscular like in season 2... I did notice his shirt was wrinkled.. Such a guy... Since i live pretty close to Long Beach i am going to try my hardest to get over to the set and get one picture with him... And some cast members! YAY
