    1. Deb won't be killing anyone.. she's just going to turn full-on corrupt in her efforts to protect Dexter from LaGuerta's BHB investigation.

I think this title does probably refer to Deb in one way or another though.

    2. At some point - maybe already in season 7, but at least in season 8 - Deb has to start killing people. After all, that's why Lumen left Dex, why Harry killed himself. Knowing someone is a serial killer and accepting that is one thing, but being close to a serial killer without being a serial killer yourself...

On the other hand, it worked quit well in the books without Deb killing people... But in the books, Rita is alive so Dex and Deb are not as close as they might get in the TV series. (Yes, I'm talking about sex.)

    3. Lol. No way. Deb is not gonna start killing people. She might end up killing someone to save or cover for Dexter but no way in hell will she become a killer too. If she does you can come back and laugh at me just like I'm laughing at you right now.

    4. While I am leaning more towards Deb sabotaging an investigation into her brother I do not think its too far fetched that she will not kill anyone. The one clue that tells me she won't have a problem killing is when she shot and killed one of the Fuentes brothers and told Dexter that she did not feel anything when she thought she would feel remorse. That was when she asked Dez if she was screwed up. I think that could be a prerequisite to something bigger

    5. I am so tired of the Fuentes shooting being used as an argument, like that's gonna make her a killer. I can't make a great argument for myself either because I don't really have one. What it comes down to is, I don't want that for Debra, she's strong and driven, it wouldn't fit her character at all. If they end up taking her down that route so be it.

And where the hell is my friend when I need a shoulder to lean on?

    6. I'm right here. Debra will never become a cold blooded killer, unless she's suffering from multiple personality disorder. :) cheer up, cause you're my darling favourite person.

Manny Coto was a producer on Star Trek Enterprise, 24, and Dexter... and Peter Weller has played a bad guy for a character arch in each series. :)

    12. Oh and two the two Pats:

Two things that would really would really piss me off after investing all this time in this series.

#1 They drop the Deb/Dex thing and they never get together.

#2 Deb does a Lumen/Miguel and starts stabbing people through the heart and get's off on it.

Both of those bits are preposterous after all this character development. Because there is two things this show has pounded in our faces for 6 years. #1 Deb is insanely in love with Dex, and #2 Deb is NOT a psychopath/sociopath.

Over and over they have showed us how much Deb cares. Dexter noted several times that Deb puts up a brave front so that nobody knows how vulnerable she is, "she has a big heart but doesn't want anyone to see it".

People who are super emotional with big hearts, don't suddenly shut off their emotions and start murdering people. It just doesn't work. It would be the same as Dexter losing his darkness, buying a pair of birkenstocks, a Subaru, and following Phish around the country.

    13. That's cool. Star trek ain't for me though. Can you imagine how glad I am today that I quit watching 24 after season 1 when it first aired? If only I could erase all my memories of LOST and rewatch that for the first time again. :)

    14. That's pretty much what I said. Deb going on a killing spree is completely out of character, they wouldn't do that.

Deb and Dex getting together isn't as certain. If the incest trolls sends in a gigantic signed petition they might chicken out. It's a sensitive matter (for some) and I honestly don't have 100% faith that they'll go through with this yet. But it seems and feels likely.

    15. i don't know, scott buck has been quite bold in the past...it's a challenging show and it's too late to back out...they know that the largest fan base of the show will be disappointed, the incest trolls are the minority, they're just good at making noise. :) and debra getting off on killing people seems impossible to picture, no matter what happens to the sexual tension storyline, that's one thing they can't do. she's supposed to be the one that feels too much and he's supposed to be the one that feels too little.

      Delete
    16. Yeah, you go girl! Fuck the largest fanbase, they're wrong and I think they know it.

    17. girl...hahaha

    18. Correction: I dont think they know they're wrong. I know they do. Ridiculous is what it is.

The first couple hours after the last teaser came out the top comments on youtube were at war, with the two sides being divided in team incest and team not incest. I mean it was a little amusing the first couple days, did a little trolling myself :$ But get over it already.

    24. So far all they've addressed is that Debra is in love with Dexter. There has been no hints that he feels more than brother/sister love.

I don't think they'll drop the issue, but it's never been stated that they will go 100% through with the relationship. So if they don't don't blame it on us who get a little squicked by incest.

That's the problem though, we will now, regardless!

The whining over Deb's obvious reveal, was so extreme and so vocal, and some of the arguments so ridiculous (like calling many fans, the writers, the producers, and even the actors - liars) that if the show-runners play around with the love story, but ultimately back away, it will seem to us who have been fans of this storyline for years, than we got robbed of our payoff by complainers who were making threats.

And the complainers will always believe that "they won" and that as fans of whatever show, they can always get their way (story be damned) by threatening show runners, throwing temper tantrums, and screaming bloody murder on the internet.

If you are the writer, it's a bad spot to be in if you NEVER intended to go through with the love story and you decide to stick with that decision: Because you have just appeased, pleased, and enabled, all the people who are hating on you and spitting on you, and even calling for your head! And on top of that, you have unwittingly "set up and let down" all the fans who believed in the love story and were standing up and sticking by what you had written.

      That would pretty much suck.

It would be like... you had intended to promote Mike at work over your best friend Alice, but the week before you had decided to let Alice temporarily work in that position, which got her hopes up while at the same time pissing off Mike - so he spends all week badmouthing you and running you down and threatening to get you fired. Now the day is here: Do you reward Mike after he has been a dick all week, and crush the dreams of sweet and loyal Alice? Because then you will have unwittingly made your enemy powerful, and screwed over your friend, who may in fact, not want to be your friend after this!

      Sticky situation...

The lesson here, (if that is the case) is that you never should have played with Alice if you had no intention of giving her the job, and also, Mike should have just kept his mouth shut and waited it out...

    26. "There has been no hints that he feels more than brother/sister love."

There have also been no hints that he feels exactly the same way that other people do in *any* situation, why do you think that in this particular case he will feel the same way that others would? He's so different that the same criteria may not apply.

You must of missed this clue...

Debra: "Maybe it's true some people deserve to die....But i'm a cop and I don't make that F**ing decision!"

That was before she found out she was in love with Dexter. Like I said, I am leaning more towards her sabotaging an investigation than kill someone however I would not put it past her to kill at least one person in the process to protect Dexter somehow. I'm not saying she is going to kill an innocent person or someone at Miami metro, Its quite possible that she kills a bad guy (perhaps one of the mobsters) hellbent on trying to expose Dexter for who he is and what he did. Again, I am not saying this is going to happen, I am merely noting that Deb is an ever evolving character within the series so I would not be surprised if something like that were to happen

  6. would one day understand why so many morals to this show, a show about a serial killer and I see people saying: "Corruption Deb, how sad" "loving brother, that horror." Dexter is her family, she is protecting a family, not matter how she loves as a man or brother. They wanted these people that she found out only later in the show? Or that she discovered the arrest and the show is spent in jail? It has to be pure as a saint?
And, no matter his motives, he killed people for me the police can shoot and kill, big deal ""!!
The worst thing is seeing people who see Game of Thrones so moral to this show ...

    2. if I had a horror of the idea of killing killers, strong religious convictions that there is forgiveness for all, that there should be capital punishment for those who pass the limits, I could not see this show. I also do not understand watch and be positioning itself with hypocrisy about Debra protect Dexter.
Besides being a movie in so many other movies have murderers who kill, I see that it shocked many people watching.
I hope that Debra and Dexter have sex one day, in response to all this morality.

    5. @11.36

The point is that Dexter is dragging down those that love him. This has been a consistent theme of the show, in one way or another he always ends up corrupting people who get too close.

Harry - Tried to channel Dexter's impulse to kill only to end up killing himself because he couldn't handle it.

Rita - Loved him and wound up dead because of his obsession with 'learning' from Arthur Mitchell.

Astor and Cody - Ended up as orphans after he had a indirect but crucial role in the deaths of both their father and mother.

Lila - Loved him and tried to gain his acceptance by killing Doakes only to get killed herself because she didn't understand the code.

And now Deb - who will over the course of S7 be seen to turn completely corrupt in an effort to protect him. This is a complete turn around from her idealistic character in earlier seasons and yet again will show the inadvertent effects of Dexter on those who love him.

The only exception to the rule is Lumen, but then she got out early.

    6. Harry decided to kill himself because he couldn't live with what he had done:
Cheating on his wife, getting an informant killed, leaving a 5-year old behind, turning his adopted son into a serial killer...

Dexter is not responsible for what happened to Harry, Harry is responsible for what happened to Dexter (and Brian).

  7. I think the title is referring to Debra. I don't think she'll start killing people, because that would be ridiculous and out of character. What I think she'll do is destroy evidence that could expose Dexter.
