Latest From Ask Ausiello - More Dexter Season 6 Spoilers

Latest From TVLine's Michael Ausiello. Click the link below to read more major Dexter Season 6 spoilers about the next episode(s) of the show...

What’s up next for my favorite serial killer? —Erin
Ausiello: I just found out that someone gets shot and (presumably) dies in this Sunday’s episode and I am not happy about it. Not at all.

I wonder if you can settle a Dexter bet. I say that Edward James Olmos’ Professor James Gellar character isn’t really there, that he is a figment of Colin Hanks’ imagination like Dexter’s father is to him. My girlfriend disagrees. What do you think? —Frank
Ausiello: I think your girlfriend is hustling you. Now settle a bet for me: My partner says Colin Hanks’ character will turn out to be the Tooth Fairy’s son. I disagree. What do you think?

  3. I did notice that gellar isnt addressed by the waitress when Travis was eating ...... it was just, anything else for you Travis? Never considered it before .......

  4. We can see Gellar drawing a picture, right? So he has to be real OR Travis is really fucked up, even for a show about a sociopathic serialkiller...

  6. I actually thought maybe Travis was the Tooth Fairy's son also. It wouldn't surprise me, and with the imminent return of Jonah Mitchell, its all kinda coming together for me, anyway. I feel like Mitchell will also be killing people too by now, so that, along with Travis being the son of a serial killer will make Dexter question whether ALL children of serial killers become like their father. And since this is the "what does Dexter want to pass on to his son" season, then to me this all fits and I think it will lead Dexter to either confess what he does because he doesn't want Harrison to end up like him, or he will find God and stop killing for the sake of Harrison.

  7. Good theories, everyone... is Gellar a fragment of Travis's imaginatio? Could be. We've never seen him actually talking to anyone else, he only interacts with Travis and he executes all the crimes. But think about the website... he was a real person. He was fired from a University if I'm not mistaken. Maybe he was Travis's teacher, and died soon after being fired, but he's still very alive in his imagination, just like Harry is for Dexter.

Yes, Anonymous, this is a "What will Dexter pass on to his son" season, and that's interesting 'cause Harrison is growing up. I didn't knew Jonah Mitchell was coming back to the show. If he's killing too, and Travis turns out to be the Toothfairy's son, the Dexter is really going to question himself about his legacy, and if his son is going to be like him.

And finally, yes, I'm afraid it's goodbye for brother Sam, so, bye bye.

  8. I don't think it's brother Sam. I don't think they'd go to all the trouble of getting Mos and developing the storyline to kill him off that quick. If it's Deb, I'm done. LaGuarta wouldn't be missed. My money is on Quinn. He's a loose end with something on Dexter, so it would work out well. He's served his purpose as Deb's boyfriend.

  9. I agree, killing brother sam now would be a waste of a character, really...
I don't believe that deb, quinn or laguerta die, my guess is prof gellar ( if he is real ) because he could stay as a passenger for travis (just like harry for dex)And I agree, if Deb dies, I'm done with that season.. I mean Dexter CANT be without Deb, because she and Harrison are the only reasons that keep him (almost) human.

  10. Or wait a sec... The one who gets shot is the "real" Professor Geller. He maybe dies and therefore can't lead them to his mad as a hatter former student, from whom he's been running, Travis. Travis still has imaginary Dr. Geller. This would allow them to "kill" a character AND keep a guest star. Also, if they wait too long to reveal that Travis' Doc Geller isn't "real" the viewers will just be annoyed since it's an old trick.

  13. This theory with Gellar being a figment of Travis imagination was a good theory and I would've loved it.But after the last episode we know for sure that this theory is wrong. How?Well because Professor Gellar is a real person. That priest Jeremiah and something who was questioned by Batista and Quinn was a Gellar fanatic just like Travis. The guy even has his own website with a photo of him posted on the main page and he was a real professor who got fired 3 years ago because of the accusation that he stole the ancient sword, the same sword we see Travis in his right hand just moments before killing Omar Rivera. So Professor James Gellar is a real fucking person. We know it for sure after the last episode. And I admit that would have been awesome if Gellar was just a schizofrenic ghost exactly like how Dexter sees his father from time to time.

  14. According to the Anon, we've also debunked that Harry was ever real. Because he couldn't possibly be a figment of Dexter's mind if he was a real person.

    Seriously? Seriously?
    No...Seriously?

  15. To the poster who said they wouldn't kill of Brother Sam because he recently got some good character development - you can turn that theory around as well. Have you ever seen an action movie with a secondary character who mentions he has a wife with a kid on the way - you can pretty much be sure this pointless insight into a character is done to make you feel a tinge of sympathy when they die.

The same can go for Sam. We got insight into his troubled life. In fact - the whole scene was extra long. Almost like "we need to get the audience behind this guy cause his days are numbered" kind of thing. Also - the last episode listed on IMDB with the actor is the episode following this Sunday's. So that one will more than likely show his dead body.

We'll see soon enough I guess.

  16. Indeed Brother Sam is the only major character that Imdb shows as acting in only 6 episodes... I suppose he has to go, but I'm really sorry for that because he was my fave one.

  17. And, it isn't a regular, we know that, it is someone seasonal, so yes, because the moment I heard 'shot' I knew it was Mos, and that is disappointing - but, Dexter is not allowed to have friends it would seem... and I think the Mos character, as well as the incredible acting ability of Mos, he was the closest person of any character ever on the show to possibly give Dexter a new way of seeing that he could fight off the dark side, whether he was a believer or not. Because Mos had, and he had overcome his past and Dex admired him... to bad.
