Clyde Phillips recently revealed the amount of time between the start and the end of Season 1.
The highly anticipated Dexter: Original Sin is back this Friday, January 3rd, with its first episode of 2025. Titled "F is for F*ck-Up," this marks the halfway point of Season 1, being the fifth episode out of ten. Picking up directly from the shocking conclusion of Episode 4, this installment promises to keep fans on the edge of their seats.
In a recent interview with TVLine, showrunner Clyde Phillips shed light on the season’s timeline while praising Christian Slater for his exceptional camaraderie with the cast. Fun fact: both the premiere episode ("And in the Beginning...") and the finale ("Code Blues") were penned by Phillips himself.
Spoiler Alert! Clyde Phillips Reveals the Season 1 Timeline
Phillips shared an intriguing detail about the timeline of the series:
"The entirety of the season, ten episodes, takes place in about two weeks, so we can keep him (Christian Slater) around for a lot longer without having him as a ghost. We want him in the dynamic."
"In about two weeks" typically means approximately 14 days. However, the phrase allows for some flexibility, so it could range from around 12 to 16 days depending on context.
This compressed timeline means the events unfold rapidly, without any significant time jumps. Episode 5, which begins streaming tomorrow, is estimated to take place around May 24, 1991, based on context clues from previous episodes, including a screenshot from Episode 3, "Miami Vice":
What to Expect from "F is for F*ck-Up"
