Last Friday, it was the 15th anniversary of the season one finale of Dexter titled "Born Free", which originally aired on December 17th, 2006. This was the episode where James Doakes said famous quote "surprise motherfucker!". It was the day a meme was born.
Erik King retweeted DexterDaily's tweet about the milestone, and seized the opportunity to thank everyone for making Sgt. Doakes such a unique character. Despite the fact that he was Dexter's antagonist, Doakes is still one of the most beloved characters of the entire series.
Erik said: "Dexter writers were amazing! Like putting the exact right notes in the middle of my vocal range. Like tailoring a suit just for me. Doakes brought to life. I had but to deliver. Grateful to the Writers, Producers, and cast mates. Iconic moments!"
